Why Tieks Ballet Flats are the Perfect Splurge

Sometimes a girl’s just gotta have fun… and a splurge! Find out why I think Tieks ballet flats are the perfect splurge.

As a Mom, when I have a few extra dollars during the month after all bills are paid, I usually end up spending it on the kids. I have a feeling I’m not alone in that decision. I’m a giver and my favorite gift recipients are almost always my girls.

A few months ago I kept reading raving reviews about shoes, mainly from one of my best blogging friends, Ruth from Viva Veltoro. She just kept raving about these colorful flats that I just had to try. Well, my friends, I’ve never come close to paying for shoes what Tieks ballet flats cost, but I agreed. I mean, she was raving, so I had to.

There’s a reason why she raved and a reason why almost every review you see about Tieks ballet flats sounds the same. There’s also a reason why I’m going so far as to say they’re the perfect splurge… especially for those of us ladies who tend to never splurge on ourselves!

First, let’s chat about those colors, oh the plethora of colors!

When I started thinking about which color I should choose for my first pair, I wanted to play it safe. When you’re splurging on yourself, you still have to have some sort of restraint, right? I chose Burgundy for that reason. I felt like it would match most of my wardrobe, while still being fun.

I was so right. It’s one of the most popular Tieks colors of the season right now and for a good reason. Depending on what you pair them with, they can look more burgundy at times, and red at other times. While I love my Burgundy pair, I have to admit that I am now craving more fun colors, which is why I have a pair of Fuschia on the way now!

Need another excuse to splurge, ladies? Tieks customer service goes above and beyond. I’ve already had a few encounters with their service and have to say that it’s definitely a reason that I choose my splurges to be on new blue prints.

First, you’ll get a handwritten note in your blue box. Sure, not a reason on it’s own to purchase these shoes, but what a compliment to go along with the beautiful shoes. The handwritten note, along with the amazing service I’ve had so far, puts this company at the top of my splurge list. When you try Tieks, you don’t have to worry about fit, choosing the right color or size, because they offer free exchanges and returns.

I originally ordered my Burgundy Tieks ballet flats in a size 7, but when they arrived, I felt like they were a bit too loose. I requested a size 6 for exchange and they sent them out that day! So not only did I have an exchange, but I had both shoes to try on and compare which fit better… as a true 6.5 I ended up keeping the 6, although my California Navy pair fits great as a 7. Sensing a pattern here? I’ve splurged a few times now!

One of the most obvious reasons to splurge on these shoes is comfort. You’ll see ladies comparing Tieks ballet flats to walking on air. They are comfortable, but as a Mom who spends most of her day barefoot, I still spend most of my day barefoot. I would say that if you’re in a profession where you are on your feet most of the day, Tieks would be a perfect splurge and compliment to your work attire.

What you’ll notice when you do wear them, though, is the fact that the back of the flats won’t cut into your heel or cause blisters. I’ve never had a pair of flats that don’t slip, don’t hurt, and actually feel like they mold to my feet like these leather flats do.

Lastly, I choose to splurge on Tieks ballet flats for myself because they take me from plain ole Mom to Tieks chic with a slip on of a leather shoe. I am absolutely loving how I can throw them on with skinny jeans and a plain white tshirt or paired with a matching belt on my favorite LuLaRoe clothing like this Carly.

So while I’ve raved as much as most do when they’re sharing their love of Tieks, let me share with you a little bit more about these unique ballet flats. Tieks by Gavrieli ballet flats are hand crafted with the finest of leathers to be comfortable, yet durable, for everyday wear. In fact, they’re so durable that they can fold right up and fit right into your purse [within their own carrying case] so you can switch them out for those not-so-comfortable heels you might be sporting.

Making my Tieks ballet flats last is of utmost importance to me when I’m splurging on myself, so I’ve been taking notes from other Tieks veterans and inserting insoles like these, as well as regular conditioning with a leather conditioner like this one.

I've never worn a shoe like that, although I must say they do look super comfortable. I'm like you, I prefer being barefoot so a shoe like this that doesn't feel too much like a shoe would be good. I think you made a good colour choice, the burgundy looks great.
