Step2 Ford Raptor: Built Girl Tough

I am a Step2 Ambassador and am partnering with Step2 for the following review. I received a product in exchange for my review and honest opinion.

If there’s one thing that my girls love, it’s being outside so when we get a new toy that can make their outside time even more fun – they’re in love.

That’s pretty much how I would sum up their feelings about the new 2-in-1 Ford® F-150 Raptor SVT from Step2.  From the moment the box was delivered, these girls were ready drive around their own Ford Truck.  Unfortunately Daddy wasn’t home when the box arrived and I was a tiny bit concerned when I pulled the parts out of the box.

It seemed like quite the assembly process, but since I was talking up the “Girls can be tough, Girls can drive trucks!” mentality with them, I had to show just how good I could get with a screwdriver.  That’s all we needed too – plus a Hammer.  Everything else that you’ll need is included in the box.  So, with my two assistants we got to assembling and had it done fairly quickly – probably about 30 minutes in all.

You’ll notice the name of the Raptor is actually 2-in-1 Ford® F-150 Raptor SVT and that’s because it is 2 toys in 1.  It easily converts from a push car truck, sporting a floor board and handle to a kid-powered riding toy with just a few screws.  I didn’t even install the floor board or handle because the girls are definitely old enough to zoom around in the truck without it, but I love that feature – the truck that grows with your child!

This Raptor has so much detail and is really similar to the real Raptor.  I’m not sure what the coolest part of the Step2 Raptor is – the incredible decals, the matching Ford Raptor Grill with LED lights [3 AA Batteries required], those shiny wheels, the cupholders in the back, or the dual doors with locking latches.  I love that both doors open on this truck.  It also boasts a steering wheel that “beeps” – which is always a hit with the kiddos.

All of those talk to the cool factor of the 2-in-1 Ford® F-150 Raptor SVT, but parents and kids will both agree that the 360 degree turning feature puts it ahead of the rest of the pack.  No more scrubbing the tires when you’re trying to turn directions – the small middle wheel actually swivels 360 degrees to maneuver any way.  The front wheels actually stay stationary while that small middle wheel does all the work.

I first laid my eyes on the Raptor when I visited the Step2 Headquarters last month.

Now, I will say the girls haven’t let the Raptor get too dirty, but I have a fun activity that we often do to get them cooled down outside and keep our toys clean.

They are none to the wiser on the fact that they’re doing the dirty work of washing the car – they just love getting wet!
