When I became a Mom, I vowed to make healthier choices for myself and my family. During this 7 year journey I’ve come to use and love so many natural brands. I find most of my products and information online since we live in a tiny little town where our closest natural food store is over 1.5 hours away! One brand that I have come across over the past few years is NOW® Foods. When I got the email that I was going to have the amazing opportunity to travel to Bloomingdale, Illinois and tour their factory, I was quite excited and can’t wait to share what I learned during my visit and what I think you should know about Now Foods with you.
To share everything I learned about this company over my 36 hour visit would be absolutely impossible. We were immersed in the brand and experience the entire time and really learned so much. But during that time, there were 4 major words that stood out to me to describe NOW Foods.
One of our first activities during the event was SUCH a fun experience and ice breaker. But before it all began we were greeted by the CEO of Now Foods, Jim Emme. I don’t know about you, but it’s not often that I’m shaking hands with CEOs. He was gracious, down-to-Earth, and excited to share the philosophy of NOW® throughout our time together. During his talk with us he said something that totally stood out to me…
We strive to make the best possible product at the best possible price.
From my standpoint, as a Mom who lives in Northeast Tennessee with relatively little access to all natural products locally, this was such a huge point for me to hear. Throughout the entire event I came to understand just how important value and their customer is to NOW Foods.
Speaking of value, did you realize you can find a ton of recipes right on their website. This is a huge resource for NOW customers and one that I’ve been visiting quite frequently since receiving a great introduction package of their natural food products.
I mentioned our first activity briefly and I wanted to share some great photos of the event. We competed in an Iron Chef type challenge because NOW’s R&D Corporate Chef, Suzy Singh, was a Season 2 Finalist on FOX’s “MasterChef”. First we learned how to make a great healthy alternative to chicken nuggets and then were challenged by Chef Suzy to put our own spin on the dish!

One other point that really stuck out to me was when someone share this… Don’t ask why [we] are so affordable, ask why others are so expensive. With the honest ingredient labels on NOW products, it’s easy to make comparisons and wonder that exact thought.
Another word that stood out to me when I started learning more about the brand is longevity. I don’t know if you realize or not but NOW Foods is truly a pioneer of the natural products industry. Found in 1968, the brand has always been committed to sourcing the very best natural ingredients for its products and customers.
I think one reason that NOW has been able to be such a force in the natural industry for so long is because of the brand’s dedication to providing customers with a comprehensive approach to wellness by offering more than 1,400 high-quality, natural and affordable products. Did you realize that?! They have over 1,400 products in their catalog that range from functional foods and supplements to sports nutrition and health & beauty products, as well as essential oils.
Quite possibly the buzzword honesty contributes to the longevity of the brand as well. If NOW says something is in their products, it is. If they say it’s not, it’s not. How can you or I or even they be so sure?
They test it.
I had the amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes on a tour of the NOW factory facilities and it was truly eye opening. Now I’ve been on factory tours before, but this building holds so much extensive equipment for testing products and ingredients, it’s truly incredible. NOW’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs are really what sets it apart and make it a trusted natural products manufacturer.
One of the very first things the CEO of NOW Foods told us is that they view every single person in their 1,400 workforce as family. That’s very likely because NOW Foods was started as a family business almost 50 years ago and continues to be the largest family owned business in natural products.
Another amazing experience during the event was completing a PiYo class with all the other attendees. It was a great reminder that NOW’s mission is truly for customers’ health. “To look and feel your best everyday naturally” is the mission behind the NOW® Solutions line and has become one of my favorite things I’ve heard recently, so much so that I try to repeat it to myself often now… especially when I want to skip exercising!
