Preschool is out on Christmas Break which means we don’t have to be in such a hurry for breakfast time in the mornings. It also means that we’re getting closer to Christmas and the girls’ anticipation for the big Holiday gets more each and every day!
If there’s a few things my girls love it’s… pancakes, Stonyfield Yogurt Pouches, and playing with their food, so the creative Mama in me thought up a fabulous idea to combine all 3! Ok, ok – I admit that the idea behind this breakfast/craft play with your food activity came from the fact that Moreaya always wants to squirt out her pouches now. Remember this gem?
Sophia helped me brainstorm a little more on this hopefully less-messy activity and picked out the ornaments for the tree – raspberries, blueberries, and raisins! I cut a boiled egg into the cutest star you’ve ever seen and free-handed a Christmas tree for Moreaya so she could get to decorating.
I honestly thought she would snack while she decorated, but no. This girl was serious about her beautiful Christmas tree and wanted each little ornament to be in the perfect spot.
I have no doubt that if I would have set a pancake and some fruit on the table for breakfast, they would have gobbled it right up, but with Preschool being on break and the girls being so excited for Christmas, turning breakfast into an activity made us all happier!
The true test was how yummy the breakfast turned out to be and I do believe that it passed that test!
Although she decided that maybe yogurt is just as good out of the pouch again…
While we count down the days to Santa’s arrival, I think we’ll try a few different other Play With Your Food ideas.
What would you make with Stonyfield Yogurt on Pancakes?!
