This Pizza Cottage Cheese Bowl is going viral for a reason. It’s a delicious, creamy, full of flavor, protein and low carb lunch option that is ready in minutes.
Cottage cheese has recently become a new phenomenon in the world of health and fitness. This dairy product is high in protein, low in fat, and contains essential nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. It is also very versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes, from salads to smoothies.
I even wrote a whole post about the BEST Cottage Cheese Bowl Ideas.
One reason why people are eating more cottage cheese now is because it has gained popularity on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Fitness influencers and food bloggers have been sharing their creative and delicious ways of incorporating cottage cheese into their meals, which has sparked a trend among their followers.
I admit – this was exactly how I found cottage cheese. My husband had tried to convince me to try it for 15 years now, but I just couldn’t. The texture looks super weird and I couldn’t possible understand how it would taste good with fruit.
In fact, I STILL don’t like it with fruit, but I love cottage cheese paired with savory foods. And this Cottage Cheese Pizza Bowl is one of my absolute favorites. I was inspired to make it from watching Tonya’s videos on TikTok. While I love watching TikToks, I love a good ole written recipe too – which is why I’m sharing that with you today.
While I’m not on a cottage cheese diet by any means, I do love incorporating the dairy into my meals at least a few times a week because of it’s high protein content. I don’t love eating a lot of meat protein, so these cottage cheese bowls are a healthier option compared to other types of protein and cheese, which are often high in fat and calories.
Now, let’s get to that Pizza Cottage Cheese Bowl, shall we?!
This bowl is packed with protein, flavor, and cheesy goodness that you will soon crave. I’m telling you, I never thought I would use the words crave and cottage cheese in the same sentence, but it’s definitely something I do now.
To make this Viral Pizza Cottage Cheese Bowl, you’ll need:
- Cottage Cheese – While I started out eating the Walmart and Aldi brand of cottage cheese, I now prefer A Good Culture Cottage Cheese or Daisy cottage cheese
- Pizza Sauce – I’ve even used spaghetti sauce too. Just make sure you’re checking the sugar content of your sauce
- Turkey Pepperoni
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese [optional]
- Italian seasoning [optional]
- Pepperoncini peppers [optional]
I’ve seen this Cottage Cheese Pizza Bowl baked in the oven, but honestly, I love cottage cheese bowls the most because they’re convenient and FAST! That’s why I choose to make mine in the microwave. But you could bake in the oven if you choose that.
I also thought I would never use the words warm and cottage cheese together, but that’s truly what makes this Pizza Cottage Cheese Bowl so good. I simply warm up a few scoops of cottage cheese with pizza sauce and a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese before I’m ready to eat.
What cottage cheese bowls lack in looks, they make up for in taste! They really taste best once you stir all the ingredients together, but they don’t make for the prettiest of pictures. Just believe me, once you try that creamy goodness, you won’t care what it looks like!
I would say that this cottage cheese pizza bowl is more like a bowl of warm, very cheesy pasta. I love to add in some turkey pepperoni and pepperoncini peppers because they add a little “chewing” into the bowl. This, to me, makes it a little more fulfilling and like I’m really eating pizza or pasta rather than just a cottage cheese bowl.
- 1 cup Cottage Cheese
- 2 tbsp Pizza Sauce
- 1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 6 Turkey Pepperoni slices
- Sprinkle of Parmesan Cheese [optional]
- Sprinkle of Italian Seasoning [optional]
- Sliced Peppers [optional]
1. Put your cottage cheese into a microwave safe bowl.
2. Top with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.
3. Microwave for about 30-45 seconds. You want your cheese just melted.
4. Top with Pepperonis and optional ingredients.

I have a few other cottage cheese bowls that I make regularly like this pizza bowl: BLT cottage cheese bowl, Taco Cottage Cheese Bowl, and even a Philly Steak Cottage Cheese bowl that I’ll be sharing soon too!
Overall, the rise of cottage cheese in popularity can be attributed to its nutritional value, versatility, and the influence of social media. As more people become health-conscious and seek out nutritious and delicious food options, cottage cheese is likely to continue to be a popular choice.
