Quarantine Birthday Gift Ideas For Your Loved Ones’ Big Day

Just because you’re in quarantine doesn’t mean you should step off your gift-giving game!

It’s been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic, which means that by now, everyone has had a quarantine birthday, some have even had two!

It can be a little disheartening when you’re used to having a bigger birthday bash every year and you can’t. But COVID-19 is still a risk even with more people getting vaccinated so it’s better to have a very small gathering for a birthday if there’s going to be one at all.

However, just because there’s no party this year for your friend or loved one doesn’t mean that you can’t get them a gift that matters. Right now, everyone could use a pick me up especially if it’s their birthday.

Of course, you know the birthday person best, so if you want to get them a personalized gift that would no doubt be appreciated. However, there are a few things that seemed to have gained traction over quarantine as quality gifts to give.

Alone in our houses more often than not, there are some things that we all need now more than others, whether it’s an indoor hobby or just some good food to get you through the day.

Here are some of the best and trending quarantine birthday gifts you should buy:

  • Pots and plants
  • A puzzle or board game
  • A bath self-care kit
  • A delivered cake
  • A classic birthday candy care package

It’s time to go green with some plants and pots.

Pots and plants

One good thing quarantine has done is pass along a green thumb to people who previously, probably never had more than a succulent in their window.

Pots and plants are a great gift choice, it’s not just a gift it’s a hobby to acquire and quite an addicting hobby it can be. In a good way!

When gifting plants it’s always good to start out with beginner plants, unless you know that the giftee is an experienced plant caretaker. Herbs are a good bet always, because not only do you take care of them but they have a use in cooking! Fresh basil or rosemary can’t be beaten.

Succulents are also a good bet for those most likely to forget the watering schedule, most succulents can go multiple weeks without water as is akin to their original desert climate.

Get your birthday person a segway off their phone to a table-top board game or puzzle.

A puzzle or board game

A lot of the gifts on this list are listed with the intent of relaxation for the birthday person. Puzzles, as we have spent more and more time inside, have had a resurgence of sorts as a calm activity to do in the house.

Puzzles are a long-term time investment, they often take days in not weeks to complete. They’re a good gift because they can be personalized with whatever image or picture your giftee likes the best, and they really do calm you down after a long and aggravating day.

But if puzzles aren’t their jam, you could always go with a good old board game as well. A classic is a wonderful choice, Monopoly, Scrabble, Sorry, etc. Or you could go with one of the more modern board/card games that have gained popularity recently.

Cards Against Humanity promises a fun night full of hooting, hollering, and definitely some cringing for those of the appropriate age to play. Or you could get a game like What Do You Meme? Centered around the various memeage floating across the internet.

One of the hardest things to do is get up out of that bathtub when it feels so good to be there.

A bath self-care kit

Baths. There is sometimes nothing better. It’s been a hard day, and once you dip your toes in the water a sense of relief washes over you that cannot be described. Never mind once you get a bath bomb in there, with some scented candles and some fragrant smelling oil.

A bath self-care kit is a great gift for a birthday, because it basically invites them to relax, something very sorely needed on all of our parts.

You can get bath-care kits from stores already pre-packaged like Bath And Body Works or Lush but you can also create your own and wrap it up for a more personal touch!

When making this self-care kit here are some items that you should include to make your gift-giving the best that it can be.

  • Bath bombs: Bath bombs are what makes the bath fun, as well as relaxing. Pretty colors swirling about it the water just add a whole different atmosphere to the whole endeavor. And some of them are scented too, good for the skin.
  • Body lotion: You should be lotioning your body every time you take a bath or a shower, especially if you take them hot and if your skin is sensitive. Some plain aloe or oat-infused lotion is a good bet to put in a gift basket.
  • Face masks: If you’re taking a bath you’re tending to all of the skin on your body, except for your face. Let’s fix that with some unscented face masks, not everyone reacts so well to scented ones.
  • Washcloths: You can never have enough washcloths. They’re good to clean your body, and gentle on the skin. Loofahs, if you don’t switch them out, canout can create some germy problems, so it’s always better to include these washcloths.

It’s not a birthday without a birthday cake!

A delivered cake

Ah, the wonder of a good birthday cake. Vanilla or chocolate? Sprinkles or no sprinkles? How about an ice cream cake? You can’t have a birthday without some birthday cake in some form.

So, with the wonders of the internet, you can now send for a birthday cake to be made and then delivered to a residence of your choice. All you need is a working credit or debit card and you’rer golden, another great birthday gift accomplished.

You also have a plethora of options to choose from in terms of stores. Your local bakery might deliver, and it’s always good to support a local business. But you can also get cakes delivered from more of a ways off.

This Golden Fudge Birthday Cake is one non-perishable option, decorated in rainbow and gold sprinkles that you can use as a gift. Or if you want to get a little out of the box a Cookie Cake could serve just as well.

Sweets, and sweets, and more sweets.

A classic birthday candy care package

So who wants candy? It’s hard to turn down, especially with this much offered to you. A perfect birthday gift this Birthday Surprise care package comes with all the classic candies you love with some fun-themed extras.

For that loved one of yours that has a sweet tooth, this is the best gift to give. Included in the package is Reese’s candy, Mike & Ikes, Skittles, Pop-Tarts, Laffy Taffy, Fruit Snacks, and more.

There are also some lesser-known but just as tasty birthday-themed treats in the package, to fully bank on that classic birthday theme.

If you’re unsure of what to get your loved one for their birthday try this, it’sits not too specific but it shows care as well. Kids will no doubt get the biggest kick out of this one, but be sure not to let them have the candy all at once or you’ll have a hyped-up, then a stomach-sick kid on your hands.

In the end though, it’s the thought that counts right? If someone is getting a gift from you when they didn’t think they’d get one at all? Well, that feeling is almost as good as the joy from the day itself.
