For cloth diapering Moms {and maybe Dads}, it’s always exciting when a company comes out with a new product, especially when it’s a company that you already love. This is what happened when GroVia announced their new line – Kiwi Pie.
Within the Kiwi Pie line is a Pull-on Wool Cover, Lanolin Spray, Wool Wash Bar, and a one size Fitted Cloth Diaper. One size fitteds are getting a bit more common, but it’s still a bit of a novelty. Fitteds can be more on the expensive side so to have a one size option is a great thing.
It’s true! If you love fitted cloth diapers, I will be willing to bet that you will love the Kiwi Pie Fitted from GroVia!
I was sent the Ellie print. I wasn’t sure of which print I would get, but honestly after seeing all of them, I knew I would be happy about any. They are all so adorable, but the Ellie Elephants are just to die for!
The cute little 3 elephants in a row couldn’t be any cuter. The color combination of the dark gray, light gray and pinkish purple is unique and lovely.
The only time I cover this cutie up is when Moreaya wears it for nap or nighttime. I have noticed a slight fading in the dark gray, but it was only from the first initial washes and hasn’t continued.
As I said, this is a one size fitted – marketed to fit from 10-30 pounds. The diaper adjust by snapping down, similar to most one size diapers.
I’m extremely happy with the fit that I get with this fitted on Moreaya. It fits snugly enough around her legs and falls at a perfect rise.
At 22 lbs, Moreaya is wearing the Kiwi PIe Fitted unsnapped, but as you can see, still has room in the waist – quite a bit of room actually.
The diaper is made of 100% cotton {both the inner and outer print}, so you don’t have to do quite as many washes to prep it as you do an organic fitted. I did notice, however, that the diaper shrunk up quite a bit. It looked a lot larger before I washed it, so I actually think it will have no problems fitting a larger infant. As far as 30+ pounds, I’m not so sure. If you have an average-skinny child, I wouldn’t see a problem, but if you’re child is tall, the low rise might become an issue.
One point that GroVia makes about this diaper is that it stays soft wash after wash and it certainly does. I really dislike when my fitted diapers get crunchy, the whole point of a fitted is a soft diaper that’s breathable, right!?
The diaper comes with two inserts that can be snapped together to prevent sliding, although they don’t snap into the diaper itself. Combined with both inserts, this diaper {paired with a Wool Cover} keeps Moreaya dry all night. It’s an extremely absorbent fitted, which is why it’s a great nighttime cloth diaper solution. When you use a Fitted like the GroVia Kiwi Pie, the entire diaper is absorbent, not just the inserts which is why they work so well.

Seems so confusing that they are calling these new just because they added the GroVia name to them. I had a few for my daughter in 2009 and they were nice, I used fitted diapers more than any others while at home because I love how breathable they are. My daughter only had a rash a couple of times whereas (in disposables) my other babies always had a rash.

Sorry if that was confusing, Missy! I meant Kiwi Pie is a new line in the GroVia line-up. I don't think anyone is trying to stay they are new but they are now being made with the GroVia name.
