As soon as I found out my sweet cousin was pregnant, I was already jumping at the chance to throw her a Baby Shower. I absolutely love planning parties – can you tell?! I’ve thrown my girls a Mickey Mouse Party, a Dinosaur Birthday Party, and even a Beach birthday party in the middle of winter. But this one was going to be really fun!
We live in east Tennessee and my cousin is quite the country girl, so when she found out that she was having a little boy, she told me she’d like to have a John Deere Baby Shower theme. Hmmm. It wasn’t anything I had done before, but I knew it was going to be totally cute and fun.

I don’t know about you, but when I plan parties, showers, or really anything – I do them as efficiently and inexpensively as possible. Whether I’m spending my own money or someone else’s there are ways of decorating on a budget.
Tips for Throwing an Expensive Baby Shower
One of my favorite ways to do this is to get key pieces of your theme and then decorate with a few key colors to tie everything together.
That was pretty easy to do with this theme since John Deere is overwhelmingly yellow and green. With this John Deere Baby Shower, I purchased John Deere-inspired artwork, complete with “It’s a Boy” and Brantley’s name.
Throwing a green and yellow baby shower is super easy and immediately makes you think of John Deere!
John Deere Centerpiece Ideas
I punched out the circles to use as Cupcake Toppers. I also used the same artwork for centerpiece flags and stickers to put on Bubbles {for small party guests} and Mason Jars that were our table centerpieces.
Each table had a quart Mason Jar with yellow or green crinkled paper and two Marshmallow Pops. I love making these Marshmallow Pops because they’re always a hit {they’re yummy}, relatively inexpensive and easy to make, and you can make them go with ANY theme.
Plus they do double baby shower duty – they’re a yummy treat and also make an adorable centerpiece for the tables!

I surrounded all of the centerpieces with little felt cut-outs. I had Baby Bottles, Baby Rattles, Tractors, and of course the John Deere “deer” cut out in green and yellow felt.
Although these were made a bit different, they’re pretty closely made just like my tutorial of the Goldfish Marshmallow Pops that I made for Moreaya’s Beach Birthday Party.
I doubled up the marshmallows on these, put them on a cute paper straw, and dipped them in candy melts before rolling in sprinkles!
Another great way to decorate on a budget is to use items that you already have. Brantley’s Mama had already started buying him some fun John Deere toys so I asked her to bring some along.
They looked adorable as decorations and worked great as balloon weights.

I chose to focus on the “country” aspect of John Deere with both our decor and our finger foods menu.
We put all of our food in baskets with fabric lining. I came up with some fun food ideas and we served:
- Pigs in a Blanket – Little hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls
- Cow Patties – no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies
- Chips
- Goldfish
- Haystacks – chow mein noodles covered in butterscotch
- Candy Pacifiers
- Cupcakes
- Lemonade
This turned out to be an easily adaptable theme and a fun one too! If you have a little guy or gal that loves John Deere – or country/cowboy themes, you can really have fun with it!

This is so cute!! My sister is having a baby boy and she asked me to throw her baby shower and the theme is John Deere also!! I am having so much fun doing it. I know you said you didn't make the pacifiers, someone else did but do you have what they used? you did such a great job!

Thank you, Steffine! The pacifiers were made from the Lifesavers Mints, then a white chocolate candy melt on top of that, with a jellybean on top of that! I think she used a bit of icing to make it all stick together nicely. Good luck on your shower!
