Looking for a movie to enjoy on a cool Fall night that the whole family will love? Incredibles 2 should be at the top of your list! Here’s a few reasons why my family names it as one of the best of the year!
We received this movie for review. All opinions are our own.
This past Summer I went on a trip with my Mom and Mother-in-Law and the girls spent the weekend with their Dad by himself. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a wonderful, involved Dad, but it was definitely his first time having them by himself all weekend. At 8 and 6, it’s pretty easy, but he made sure to keep them busy and one of those ways was by taking them to the movies.
The girls picked to watch the newly released Incredibles 2 and I have to admit I was pretty jealous. While I had fun on my trip, I knew I was going to love this movie because Incredibles is one of my Disney favorites. And I was right – I would have [and do] loved it. They talked about the movie for weeks after!
Then, while on our Disney Cruise, I was so excited because we were able to watch it together in 3-D! The girls were just as excited to watch it in the theater a second time and I definitely was. They immediately asked if we could get it when it was released on DVD because they really loved it that much.
Fast forward to this past week and Incredibles 2 was released on Blu-ray and they were ecstatic to see it show up at the door. We immediately declared a movie night [and actually again the 2nd night because we’ve already watched it twice] and enjoyed it again as a family!
Incredibles 2 continues the Parr family super story with a new addition – Jack-Jack! The baby is definitely the star of the show with his 17 super powers that kept the girls laughing the entire time. I couldn’t help but love the character, Winston Deavor as soon as I recognized Bob Odenkirk’s voice, though! And that’s why the whole family continues to enjoy Disney movies together because there are jokes and themes that are both appropriate for children and definitely entertaining for the parents as well.
While I love the first movie and sometimes sequels don’t match the super power of the original movie, Incredibles 2 does for sure! The plot is completely different and I love the family aspect of this movie as they band together to fight evil.
And bringing the family theme full circle, Sophia was asked to write her first blog review pertaining to the film! In addition to the movie, you’ll find 2 shorts – Bao and Auntie Edna on the DVD. She watched Auntie Edna twice to make sure she shared her feelings about the short with you and was so excited to share this with you!
The short film, Auntie Edna, features the time while Edna babysits Jack-Jack. It contains some very funny events. My favorite part of this short film is the scene where Jack-Jack turns into a bomb-baby. However, there are many more scenes to enjoy. The short film is a fun thing to watch with a family and is sure to make you laugh.
If you’re a Disney fan, you’ve probably already added Incredibles 2 to your library, but in the rare case you haven’t yet, run out and do it before the weekend so your family can have a great movie night too!
