5 Reasons The Whole Family Will LOVE the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show

Looking for a dinner show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that the whole family will love? You have to visit the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show! The show is highly entertaining, hilarious, and offers an amazing Southern dinner that is all you can eat!

My family just returned from a fun and full weekend in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We live just a little over an hour from the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and it’s no secret that it’s one of our favorite places to vacation… or is it a staycation since we’re so close? Either way, it’s one of our favorite towns to visit and always has been!

We’ve been Dollywood season pass holders since the girls were little [and I was when I was growing up too], so it’s no surprise that when we spend time in Pigeon Forge, we’re usually at Dollywood.

But this past weekend I made it a goal to visit a few places that we never have before! A special thanks to the folks at Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show for providing my family tickets to see their show and share our experience with you!

In case you aren’t aware, the company that owns the ever-popular Dolly Parton’s Stampede and the new Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show with Dolly Parton recently purchased a few more great shows in Pigeon Forge.

The newest additions to the company are the Smoky Mountain Opry, The Comedy Barn and the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud.

We’ve passed the building hundreds of times and I have to admit, it’s always had me curious, but for some reason we just hadn’t visited yet. Thank goodness that changed this weekend because it’s definitely one that we’ll visit again and recommend to friends.

In fact, I’ve got 5 reasons why we’ll be sharing it just as much as our other favorite dinner shows and here they are…

The Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show is an All You Can Eat Dinner Show!

If you’re looking to enjoy Southern food, this dinner show offers quite the menu! They do have utensils, unlike Dolly Parton’s Stampede, so you can grab a fork or spoon and dive right in to the fried chicken, pulled pork BBQ, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, and the delicious creamy soup that they’re famous for!

While we found that the buckets of food brought to our table were plenty for our family of 4, it’s awesome to know for those hungry fellows that you can get as much as you want!

Expert Tip: Arrive EARLY! Our show was at 5pm, we arrived at 4:15 and still had to wait in a rather long line. We enjoyed looking around the gift shop and outside at the animals after the show, but I would recommend coming even more than an hour before your show starts to experience it all.

Audience Participation

One of my favorite parts of any dinner show is the entertainment, of course, and when they bring the audience into the story, it gets even better. The audience participates in the Family Feud of the Hatfield and McCoys in a variety of ways, including some fun competitions.

They even let all of the kids come down onto the stage at the very beginning of the show to dance on-stage. This got the girls really excited about the show for sure.

Variety of Entertainment

There is no time during the 2 hour dinner show that you’re not entertained. The pre-show camera work on the audience was super fun [Kiss Cam!], and the show keeps you on your toes for what’s going to happen next.

I don’t want to give away the story line completely, you know, except for the fact that the two beloved families from the past are constantly feuding, but you’re in store for lots of rowdy, ruckus fun including… pants being on fire, flooding INSIDE a theater [yes!], a diving competition, dynamite being blown a few times, dogs diving as well, and so much more.

Honestly, it’s a show that you just have to see to understand and while it’s fun, silly, and very entertaining – it all fits so well into a great storyline that everyone in the family will enjoy!

Kid Friendly

Speaking of everyone in the family, the kids in the family will enjoy the show just as much as the adults. A lot of the humor was easy enough for my 9 year old to understand, and totally appropriate too, and Moreaya enjoyed the physical humor and gags too.

Moreaya ended up loving the show so much, she’s already requested to be one of the Hatfield girls’ for Halloween… for real.

We’ll see if she sticks with it for another month, but for now, we’re planning a Hatfield Halloween costume!
