We received the National Geographic Kids books for review. All opinions are my own.
Sophia and I are definitely the readers of the family. While I love to read, I don’t as much as I used to. I have a million excuses and reasons why I need to do something else other than read, but her love of our shared hobby has definitely made me pick up books more often lately.
We’ve been reading the Harry Potter series together, but that isn’t enough for my book-loving 8 year old! While she loves HP and all the magical adventures, she’d actually tell you that nonfiction books are her favorite. She’s always bringing home a nonfiction book from the library and National Geographic Kids books are some of her favorite.
She was absolutely ecstatic when I showed her the latest package that showed up at our door featuring 13 amazing books that are sure to become some of her favorites. She’s obsessed with joke books and weird facts so the Weird But True! books are a BIG hit.

Weird But True! 10 (ages 8-12, $8.99) is the latest release in the main Weird But True! series and books 1-9 has been refreshed and expanded to include 50 MORE facts than the original releases (that’s 350 facts per book if you are counting!)! Sophia is in 3rd grade and an avid reader and I feel like her age is just the perfect time to really enjoy these books. I know I would have loved them when I was her age… and still enjoy hearing her share the facts with me now!
