Here’s a fun Christmas Elf activity with a little magic too. This magic Skittles rainbow experiment is fun, easy to set up, and inexpensive too with this FREE Elf Skittles Rainbow Printable.
We’re in full Elf mode over here and sometimes it’s hard to come up with new Elf ideas – I totally get it.
We’re on our 10th year of having Criddle, our Elf, in our home and sometimes I feel like she only repeats the same things every year. That’s why I’ve challenged myself to come up with some new ideas and new Elf printables like this one – the Skittles Rainbow Magic trick!
This Elf activity is super easy to set up and you’ll only need a few things to get started.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bag of Skittles – you might want to grab 2 just in case your bag lacked alot of red skittles like mine did!
- White plate – this can be done on any plate – I used styrofoam here.
- Warm water
- My FREE Elf Skittles Rainbow Printable
To set this up, I had our elf bring the Rainbow Skittles Printable, a bag of skittles and a plate. Depending on your child’s age, you may want to go ahead and have the Skittles laid out on the plate. This isn’t hard, but they do like to roll around a lot.
Then, you’ll simply warm up some water in the microwave and pour it into the center of the plate. Within seconds, the colors start melting off the Skittles and make the coolest swirled rainbow pattern. It really is cool to see this happen because it works so fast!
