Elf on the Shelf Secret Message Puzzle

Ready for your Elf on the Shelf to bring something extra special? This Elf on the Shelf Secret Message Puzzle is perfect! Free to print and comes with a Secret Message Puzzle Decoder to help the kids know what the special message says.

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition that we’ve been doing in our house since my girls were just tiny. Actually, the first year our elf appeared, my oldest was just 2 – so our elf has now been with us for 10 years now!

I’m still just as excited about our Elf on the Shelf as my girls are. That might be hard to believe, because I see so many parents who get a little tired of their elf after a few nights, but I’ve always said – the key is to make the elf on the shelf an EASY process!

That’s why I shared my favorite easy Elf on the Shelf ideas years ago… so you can love your elf as much as we do!

But just because we like easy elf behaviors, doesn’t mean we don’t have a little extra fun every now and then! Our elf, Criddle, tends to bring fun activities randomly throughout the Christmas season. One she brings every year is our Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt.

She also likes to bring Elf on the Shelf coloring pages because my girls LOVE to color. And they love all things scout elf in the month of December.

This year, Criddle is bringing something a little extra secretive – an Elf on the Shelf secret message puzzle! And I thought your elf might love it as much as ours does so I’m sharing the FREE printable version with you below.

This secret message puzzle is great for home, or even a great Elf on the Shelf idea for preschool classroom because it comes with 6 different messages. Your elf could bring all at the same time or bring 1 a night for almost a week!

The printable pages also come with a Secret Message Decoder so your child can decipher the elf’s secret message! This makes the elf puzzle even more fun and interactive.

The Elf on the Shelf secret messages contain fun, Christmas themed messages for the kids to “decode”. The answers to each are also in the printable sheets below.

Here’s what you’ll need to enjoy this fun Elf on the Shelf Activity:

Simply print these FREE Elf on the Shelf Secret Messages and cut on lines. Then, cut out the 2 circles that form the Puzzle Message Decoder. Layer the circles, smaller on top and place the optional mini brad to keep the circles attached.

The circles should line up so that the Christmas Tree lines up with the letter “E” to decipher the coded messages from your elf correctly! *This is also on the printable itself.

That’s it! Your child will be ready to break the code and figure out the secret message that came straight from the North Pole! Your elf can bring these anytime, whether it’s for their arrival or just a random day in December to keep the elf magic alive.
