This is Sophia’s first year in Preschool and she’s done so well.  She was excited to go which has helped with her success, but I also know that having wonderful teachers makes the biggest impact on a young child.  I am so thankful that she has been blessed with three particular teachers that care for her incredibly, both educationally and personally!  So, with this being Sophia’s first year with her own special teachers, I wanted to come up with an extra special gift for each of them, featuring Extra mint gum!

When I worked in child care, before I had my own girls, when the kids would bring in special gifts for the Holidays it always meant so much to me.  Just the little recognition really made me feel good and gave me the sense of appreciation from the parents.  It so thoughtful!  So, with this being Sophia’s first year with her own special teachers, I wanted to come up with an extra special gift for each of them!

I was inspired to do this craft after learning that I would be working with Wrigley’s Extra chewing gum.  You know those cute candy bar posters that you’ve seen on Pinterest that play on the name of the candy?  Well, I wanted to do just that with Extra!

I know working with 3 year olds for most of the day, 4 days a week is tiring.  I know that all too well.  So, I thought Sophia’s teachers might need a boost in the mornings sometimes and then, of course, some freshening after that coffee!

The girls and I went shopping for the supplies and we were able to get everything on the same trip to Walmart.  Not only did the cute mugs and truffles come from the Christmas aisle, I was able to buy Starbucks Gift Cards and Extra gum right in the Checkout aisle!  There was even a demo in the store the day we shopped so I could try the different flavors of gum and got a coupon for my purchase too!

After trying all three flavors, I ultimately decided on Peppermint.  It’s my favorite flavor and perfect for Christmas!  Once we got home, it was time to put the gift together.  Since they were for her teachers, Sophia took the shining center role!

The contents of the gifts centered all around our gift tags, which I’ve created as a pdf if you would like to print them out and use them too!

The idea for this gift actually came from my time as a Toddler Teacher in child care.  I remember that a cup of coffee in the morning always helped my day go smoother and on one particular day a little girl was sitting on my lap during Circle Time.  She looked up at me and said “Ms. Lindsey, you need to brush your teeth!  Your breath is stiiiiinky!” while waving her hands.  It was hilarious, cute, and very, very true.  I had coffee breath and needing that extra freshening!

Such a cute idea! We always just end up doing a Dutch Bros or an iTunes gift card for their teachers. Although with a kid in high school it's pick the all time favorite teacher because 9 teachers for one child can rack up the costs. lol
