This is a sponsored conversation about using Essential Oils in products, like the DIY Cleaning Wipes I created, on behalf of Discover Natural Solutions. All opinions are my own.
It seems that I’m a little late to the Essential Oils Party, but better late than never, right!? So many people – both bloggers and friends alike – are raving about the benefits of using essential oils in their everyday lives that I just had to try them out for myself!
The Into Kit comes with three of the most popular and widely used oils – Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint. It also contains information how ways to use the oils and a CD full of information!
In addition to the Kit, she also sent along a fabulous Beginner’s Guide for me [I’ve been reading this religiously, trying to decide on my next oil purchases!] and a few samples of Deep Blue Rub which are fabulous for sore muscles and achy joints. Rob is going to love these when he picks up his Triathlon training in a few weeks!
There are countless uses for Essential Oils, but I decided to use them to make something I most desperately need in my house. You see, I’ve admitted on more than one occasion that one totally-not-green product that we just can’t seem to ditch are those disposable bleach wipes. They’re just so darn convenient and I just can’t kick the habit! Well, I put my Lemon doTERRA essential oil to the test, with a couple of other less toxic cleaners and created a fabulous recipe for Cleaning Wipes with reusable cloths!
Cleaning Wipes Solution [made with doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil]
The solution is so simple to make. I did 2 parts water to 1 part white vinegar, added a couple of pumps of dish soap, and about 8 drops of doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil. The Lemon Oil is not only great for cleaning, it definitely tones down the smell of the vinegar which pleased hubby!
You can also make these wipes disposable by using paper towels, but I have some fabulous unpaper towels from the Natural Linens Boutique that I love so I used those. I store them in an empty disposable wipes box and fold them so they’ll pop up like the disposables do!
The reusable DIY Cleaning Wipes are extremely inexpensive and so much safer than disposable bleach wipes. They’re a little more work than the disposables, but just as convenient once they’re made, for cleaning up spills and wiping down kitchen and bathroom counters! If you’re planning on keeping the wipes in the box for more than a couple of days, adding a few drops of Melaleuca Essential Oil [Tea Tree Oil] is a good idea to keep mold away].
I am definitely finding more and more uses for these 3 oils and definitely recommend having at least these 3 doTERRA Essential Oils in your cabinet at home!

Clever idea! I use essential oils in my homemade baking soda and vinegar pasta. I put a few drops lavender essential oil and it become the best oven cleaner in the world. Thanks for the idea with the cleaning wipes!

I love these cleaning wipes but let's be honest, they are not so cheap. Your idea for home made wipes is amazing! I will definitely try to make that at home! Thanks!
