DIY PLAYMOBIL Storage Case with Play Map for Fun on the Go

My girls have always been obsessed with small toys. They’ll pick a small playset over a large toy at the store any day. For that reason it wasn’t a surprise at all when Moreaya made her “Santa List” last year and 3 out of the 4 items on her wish list were PLAYMOBIL sets!

I’ve always encouraged her love for PLAMOBIL toys for a few reasons. One, they’re budget friendly, especially compared to some other toy sets and they enhance her creativity and imagination so much! Second, I appreciate the high quality and attention to detail that PLAYMOBIL dedicates to all of their toys.

And last, but certainly not least, I absolutely love to listen to her play with them because there’s always a complex story line happening during her play time.

PLAYMOBIL sets and characters help, not only with cognitive development, but role play and social and emotional development – especially when they’re playing with realistic iconic figures like police officers and firefighters!

They were SO excited and couldn’t wait to pick out a new play set. Before we headed to the store I just knew they would pick the PLAYMOBIL Hidden Temple with T-Rex, but standing in the aisle, Moreaya confessed she had been wishing for the PLAYMOBIL Take Along Police Station.

Although she quickly said that the Hidden Temple is next on her Wish List!

We have another take along set from PLAYMOBIL so I knew that it would be perfect for her since it’s so portable. She loves to take along her favorite characters and sets just about everywhere, even camping, so these play sets make it super easy.

While the PLAYMOBIL Take Along Police Station folds up perfect for on-the-go play, and even has room to store most of the accessories, Moreaya never limits her play to just one set, of course!

So we got to work on designing her a fun DIY PLAYMOBIL storage case and believe it or not – we came up with a great solution to store PLAYMOBIL in the car and at home, for under $5!

First, the small container set is an Organizer Case that I found in the school supply section of our local dollar store. The compartments are various sizes and hold PLAYMOBIL characters and accessories. I added her name to give it a little more personal touch.

Then, it fits right inside a rectangle flip top latch tote that I found at Walmart. I wanted something about the size of her lap, so she could easily play with it in the car, and something with a flat surface on top to mount a super cute printable play map.

I simply took my printed play map and attached it with this clear shipping tape all over it to the lid of the tote. It makes for a prettier storage case and a little extra play area [with some imagination] for the car or anywhere really.
