A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the fun I’ve been having stalking HTF Cloth Diapers {Hard to Find}. This is not a way to cloth diaper on a budget. If you’re actively seeking HTF diapers, you probably don’t have a budget.
But one of the main reasons that parents choose to cloth diaper is definitely money savings. It was my first goal in switching to cloth and we’ve definitely saved a tremendous amount of money. I can’t wait to start this series and show you just how to manage Cloth Diapering on a Budget!
The series will run over the next couple of weeks. Topics will include:
- Breakdown of the costs of each type of major cloth diapering system.
- Costs of Cloth Diapers vs. Disposables.
- Reviews {and Giveaways!} of Cloth Diapering Systems that are easier on the Wallet.
- Easy ways to save even more when Cloth Diapering on a Budget
Until then, I’d love to hear from you…

I am excited about this series! I've been slowly building a stash for baby #2 due in December. I'd love to learn more about cloth diapering without spending a lot of money.

It really can be overwhelming at first as the start-up costs seem to be so high compared to a few packs of disposables. I can't wait to get started on the series too!

I've saved by making my own shells and inserts. The inserts are super easy to make and I use them with either pocket diapers or Flips- used up a bunch of old flannel receiving blankets to make them!

Great advice, Emily! DIY is definitely a great way to go and saves a TON of money!

This sounds insane, but with my fourth, I discovered the fancy, gorgeous AI2's about the time he was almost 2 (he trained at three) and I won a couple. I then purchased a few more shells, but in the mean time, I really needed more inserts. I went to my rag bag, and got out all of my old hand towels and dishclothes that I originally intended to keep for cleaning but hadn't used yet. Terry Cloth is soft and super absorband, and a hand towel is the perfect size to tri fold and fold down either in the front for boys or back for girls. While I did eventually get a few more inserts to go with my AI2's so I could reuse the shell, those towels are super inexpensive even brand new, and are a great way to save

What a great idea, Allyson! I will definitely share your tips in one of the upcoming posts!
