Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to clean bathrooms while still being able to breathe safely at the same time? It IS possible and if you’re still using harsh chemical cleaners to clean your home, it’s time to stop.
Not only can harsh chemicals damage surfaces, they can damage your health as well.
My family started on a journey to limit chemicals, especially harsh chemical cleaners, when Sophia was born. I decided then that I didn’t want to risk her getting hurt by coming into contact with dangerous ingredients so it was best to do away with them completely.
Having children definitely put cleaner and safer products at the forefront of my mind, but it’s not the only reason you should consider cleaning without harsh chemicals.
Another reason to switch cleaning products is for the environment. It’s an obvious one for most, but in ways that can sometimes be overlooked.
While we think about the effects on the air that surrounds us, it’s also important to look at the type of cleaners that you’re washing down your sinks and showers, not to mention the amount of plastic used to produce the cleaning products and containers.
This is definitely the way Blueland stands out to me. They are essentially creating zero waste cleaning products with their kits like The Clean Essential Kit I received.
Once you have the Forever bottles from Blueland, all you need are the refill tablets. Each tablet, formulated for certain tasks, dissolve in warm water. This not only eliminates the need to buy single use plastic cleaning products, but essential creates zero waste cleaning products because the small packaging the tablets are in is compostable too!
- Clean Ingredients: Made with plant-based and planet-friendly ingredients
- Effective: Independently tested to perform alongside major brands
- Save Space & Money: Tablets take up 10x less space than a traditional bottle and refills start at $2.25
I also choose to use cleaners without harsh chemicals to support brands and companies who are doing their part in making the world and environment a cleaner place.
Blueland is also making huge strives in the rest of their packaging too.
I’ve tried many different brands over the past 7 years and today I’m sharing the one that we’re currently using.
Blueland cleaning products are made with no harsh chemicals – no bleach, no ammonia, no parabens, and no phthalates! With that, there are no known skin, eye or respiratory irritants which means that you can clean and breathe at the same time.
It is possible, and actually more effective, to clean without harsh chemicals when you have the right products. It’s time to rethink using harmful chemical cleaners and start cleaning without harsh chemicals in our homes.
With 4 adults, 2 kids, a cat, and a dog living in our house, I’m definitely always thinking of how to improve our household and our health and cleaning without harsh chemicals with products like Blueland are one way I do just that.

Hello,
My fiancée and I are starting to go green. We have just started using equal parts water and vinegar to clean with. The smell is hard to get over, but it's feels better using this than harsh chemicals. We've just been told about putting lemon peels in it to make it smell better. Have you ever tried this?

Oh I haven't actually! I honestly like the smell of vinegar [weird maybe] so it doesn't bother me at all. I'd highly recommend Aquavert if you're having trouble getting over the smell. It has no smell at all - and definitely no harsh chemicals!
