Why I Breathe Easier with the Venta Airwasher in Our Home

If you’re looking for a way to breathe easier in your home, give the Venta Airwasher a spin. It’s an energy efficient air purifier and humidifier in one machine.

Breathe Easier with Venta Airwasher

We’re only a few days into March and I’m already hearing friends and family complain about seasonal allergy symptoms hitting them hard. Normally I would be feeling the same symptoms, actually most of the time worse symptoms, but this year I’m happy to report that I’m breathing easier even amongst the Spring flowers blooming and the trees budding! Why? Because we have a Venta Airwasher in our home!

When the company contacted me to review a Venta Airwasher, I was a little hesitant, to be honest. I’ve dealt with humidifiers before and loved them, when they worked, but they were such a pain to deal with… cleaning out every day, deep cleaning once a week, always worrying about mold and mildew. After reading about the Venta Airwasher LW45, I quickly realized that there were no filters to change, there was little maintenance maintenance involved, that it held 3 gallons of water [no refilling constantly!], and it was much more than a typical humidifier like I had had before.

Venta Airwasher Living Room

The Venta Airwasher LW45 is the largest unit and is recommended for an 800sq. ft. room. It’s perfect for our downstairs as it’s more open and we can see the benefits of using it in multiple rooms at the same time. Since it’s the largest machine, it does take up a little more room than the LW15 or LW25, but the unit sits out of the way and we really don’t even remember it’s there. It’s quiet – like extremely quiet so you don’t hear it running either. It’s also very light, weighing only 13 pounds when it’s empty, so I often move it around from downstairs to upstairs in our bedrooms. I think that means I need another one!

Venta Airwasher in Kids Room

When the girls were sick a couple of weeks ago, I put the Venta Airwasher in their room to be sure the air wasn’t too dry and to help clean the air as well. One of my favorite features of the LW45 is the ability to use 3 different settings. When we have the unit sitting in an open space, I put it on speed setting 3, but when I use it in a smaller room like the girl’s bedroom, I set the speed to 1.

Venta Airwasher Settings

Since the Venta Airwasher runs continuously, I know what you’re thinking “Is it really energy efficient?” It indeed is – first, the Venta Airwasher is made with green energy. It also has a safety feature to shut itself off when the water level reaches too low – so if the unit runs out of water in the middle of the night, there’s no need to be concerned. They also contain no filters to replace or throw away, which is a huge cost savings over other humidifiers and air purifiers.

Set up is also a breeze. The unit contains 3 main parts: the bottom reservoir, the disk stack [seen in the picture below], and the top half.

Inside Venta Airwasher

Pouring water into your Venta Airwasher is so easy as you can pour it anywhere into those disc stacks! There’s no worry about where the water needs to go or how much water to use, thanks to the water levels lines on both sides of the reservoir also. Although there are no filters to buy, there is one product to buy in addition to the Venta Airwasher – their Venta Water Treatment Additive, which can be found on both their website and Amazon.com. It’s recommended to add the treatment to your water every couple of weeks.

Now, I know what you really want to know… does it work?! I’ll show you my reservoir if you promise not to judge me!

Dust in Venta Airwasher

This is the water reservoir after running the unit for about a week upstairs. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t much dirt and dust in the water, but there definitely was some. The Venta Airwasher helps to remove dirt, dust, pet dander, dust mites, bacteria, pollen, and other allergens from the air in your home and it looks like it’s doing just that in ours!

Venta Airwasher Cleaning Home

Overall, the main reason that I breathe easier with the Venta Airwasher in our home is because of the humidity in brings to our rooms. Right now we’re dealing with the drying effects of natural gas heat. Although I’m extremely thankful that we’re warm inside our home, this type of heat is so drying to our bodies, especially our sinuses, and to our home too. It’s recommended that you use the unit continually to maintain the appropriate levels of humidity in your house, which at ideal levels are 40-55% when you’re running the Venta Airwasher. I can tell a huge difference, especially when I wake up in the mornings and I am not dealing with a dry throat, nose, and eyes like I normally would in early Spring!

For those of you that love your essential oils like me, they have also produced 100% all-natural essential oils that have been exclusively formulated for your Venta Airwasher. I haven’t had the chance to try these yet, but I’ll definitely be ordering some in the near future! If you’re ready to breathe easier, you can purchase your own Venta Airwasher on Amazon.com.

It is a 2 in 1 air purifier & humidifier. It is easy to clean without filters, which won’t produce the white dust.

I learned that the LW25 had dual function. It's a 2-in-1 humidifier and purifier.
