Thank you to Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa for providing a complimentary stay at their resort and showing us why they are the best family choice in Orlando FL Hotels. All opinions are my own.
When I started planning our Fall Break Vacation to Orlando, one of the first things I had to do was decide where we were going to stay. While there are benefits to staying onsite at area theme parks, since we were renting a car and wanted to see other sites while we were visiting, I decided we would stay off site. But looking for Orlando FL hotels can be a daunting task because there are so many options.
Then, I saw this pool and knew it was the best choice for our family for our long weekend!
The Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa is unique and unlike other Orlando FL hotels you might find. I would venture to say that instead of referring to it as a hotel, a condo or family suite would be the best way to describe the resort. I admit, when we’re going on vacation I often look for the most budget friendly options for our family, which is usually sharing one hotel room, but the perk with staying at this resort is their 2 bedroom suites are comparable in price to those cramped hotel rooms!
We had the pleasure of staying on the 14th floor in a 2 bedroom suite that featured a Master bedroom with connecting bath. Our suite also featured a 2nd bedroom with 2 full size beds, another full size bathroom, a den area with a pull-out sofa, dining area, and a large kitchen with a refrigerator, range, oven, and dishwasher! The kitchen also comes equipped with dishes, a coffeemaker, and cooking utensils so you can prepare meals for your family, which is a great way to save money in the vacation budget.
One of my favorite features of this suite, other than the fact that the girls had their own room, was the washer and dryer. When you’re traveling with kids, anything can happen, and even just staying 3 nights, I had to do laundry once. If you’re flying into Orlando, you can pack light and wash clothes halfway through the trip – this is what I always do when laundry facilities are available.
One thing to remember when staying at the resort is there is no complimentary daily housekeeping service. I found this totally fine as we usually hang up a Privacy sign anyways, but this is where the clothes washer comes in handy for families who are staying for more than a weekend. You can easily wash and dry your towels for an extended stay. You can purchase housekeeping services, depending on your needs, from the resort.
We arrived at the Lake Buena Vista Resort after midnight, which would normally make me nervous, but their resort was well lit and the resort hostess made sure I knew exactly where I was going and that our room was perfectly ready. Let me tell you, arriving that late and seeing this on your bed sure makes a great first impression!
The next morning we realized what a great view we had from the 14th floor and we also got to explore the resort and area a bit more. If you love shopping, you’ll love the location. You can actually walk to the Lake Buena Vista Outlets which are located right beside the resort!
In addition to outlet shopping, there is a convenience store located on the property. This made me feel so much more at ease knowing that if we needed anything at all, we could walk down and get it. There are also 3 restaurants on site, including Lani’s Luau Poolside Bar & Grille, the world famous Frankie Farrell’s Irish Pub & Grille, and a Pizza Hut Café Express.
There were a couple of amenities that we didn’t have a chance to experience during our visit, which only means we have to go back! There are kids activities held outside near the Pirates Plunge Pool that I know our girls would have loved to participate. I would have loved to check out the Reflections Spa & Salon myself, but just didn’t get a free moment. The spa looks amazing and the list of services outstanding. I can tell you that I would have loved a Tropical Island Massage after 2 days at Universal Studios!
Speaking of theme parks, there are shuttles available to all the major Orlando theme parks provided by Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. Since we had our rental car, we didn’t use the shuttles, but they would be a great way to save when it comes to parking fees and convenience. Shuttles, as well as wireless internet, is available for guests for a nominal resort fee.
While we were very happy with every aspect of our stay at this resort, the area that really made it a “We will stay here when we visit Orlando again” resort was… the pool! The girls just loved it and I loved the fact that the pool was great for all ages, with the water slide inside the pirate ship and the zero-entry shallow area. There is also a totally separate pool for couples who might find the Pirates Plunge area a little too exciting.
If you’re wondering where Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa is located in relation to theme parks, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. We were within a 1 mile of Downtown Disney, now known as Disney Springs, and around 10 miles from Universal Studios. It took us about 20 minutes to drive to Universal because of traffic and parking.
Once our long weekend was over [which actually felt like too short of a weekend], we were a little sad to leave our home away from home that we had made in the Lake Buena Vista Resort. For the amenities, clean and lovely atmosphere, layout of the suites, and price, I have no reservations saying that I believe the resort really makes for one of the best family choices in Orlando FL hotels.
Visiting Orlando soon? Let me know if you have any questions about the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa!

I love that ship in the pool. The evil side of me wants to know if I'll get in trouble for climbing up and jumping off of it!

We visit Orlando at least twice a year and would love to check this place out for our next trip. This is a great size hotel, and looks very clean and comfortable.
