6 Fabulous Baby Shower Gifts [under $40]

We’re talking Baby Shower Gifts today because, well, they’re on my brain. One of my best friends from high school is due with her first baby in February and her shower is in just a couple of weeks!

So, I’ve been thinking about the *perfect* gift to get her. After being a Mom to a Newborn twice now, I know that I want it to be a thoughtful gift that will actually be used… none of those hyped up baby products that you never even take out of the package.

So, with that – I bring you my list of…

6 fabulous Baby Shower Gifts [for under $40]

Why $40? Well, I feel like it’s a great, round number that I could see spending on a shower gift of a close family member or friend.

Plus, a couple of my items are MUST-haves and fit right under that number!

1.  Zen Swaddle from Nested Bean

This is the product that actually inspired my list and is one that will be going to my dear friend {hopefully she won’t see this and ruin the surprise!}.

A swaddle blanket will always be on the top of my New Baby gifts, but I believe the Zen Swaddle might just take the cake from now on. Let me show you a few things that makes this swaddler stand out above the rest…

zenswaddler

First, it’s gorgeous – the Dots print that I received is adorable and completely gender neutral. It’s made in Peru with a 100% soft, luxurious cotton that is washer and dryer safe.

An interior leg pouch means it’s 2 sizes in 1 – allowing it to work with your newborn and continue to fit as your baby grows. But the idea that makes the Zen Swaddle so unique is… it’s weighted.

There are 3 weighted areas on the swaddler – 2 on the side and 1 on top. Why weights? They are very light, but just enough that it gives that extra comfort to baby making them feel as if they are being held.

Have questions about the Zen Swaddle? Check out their FAQs.

I can’t wait to hear how she likes it.  If the reviews of this swaddler are true {it’s reported to help infants sleep up to 2 hours longer!}, I’m thinking it’ll be the perfect gift for every new Mom!

The Zen Swaddle retails for $39.99.

2.  Baby Essentials – Diapers, Formula, Baby Wash & Shampoo, etc.

Whether the New Mom is going to cloth diaper her baby or use disposables… breastfed or use formula… give her baby baths or… well, she’ll probably bathe the baby at some point.

Baby essentials aka Practical Gifts are high on my list. Fun baby products such as a baby plate with a suction base or a pacifier with a soft plush toy attached to it, cute clothes such as a baby robe or a hat with bunny ears are always fun, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, it’s nice to have some help with all your new expenses!

3.  Gift Cards

I suppose Baby registries have certainly helped with Baby Showers, but Gift Cards are still such a nice gift for a New Baby. If there’s something that the new parents wanted but didn’t receive from their registry, a gift card could be so much help towards that purchase!

Or it could be saved for those practicals we already talked about.

4.  Gifts for the New Mom

Although all the attention is surrounding that New Mom during the pregnancy, she is pushed to second quickly after the birth of the baby.

Gifts for her to use after the baby is born, like the Gift Sets from Earth Mama Angel Baby.

In addition to gifts, you could always make the new family dinners for a few days after the baby is born… even gift cards for the New Mom to have a massage, manicure, etc!

5.  Baby Carrier Wrap

My Boba Wrap was truly a lifesaver when I had Moreaya.

I had a 19 month old and a newborn baby and I literally could do nothing. Moreaya wanted to be held and I wanted to hold her… which is exactly what the Boba Wrap allowed me to do and be hands-free!

6. Boppy Newborn Lounger

I don’t have any personal experience with the Boppy Newborn Lounger, but when I asked a friend of mine, it was her immediate response when I asked her favorite baby shower gift.

It’s lightweight, portable {with a handle}, soft and cushion-y, and the perfect place for baby to lounge while you’re not holding him or her!
