We’re getting ready to head to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and I’m busy crafting DIY Harry Potter T Shirts for my girls… and here’s how you can too!

Since it’s one of my favorite book series of all time, I decided to start reading Harry Potter to my girls a few months ago. At first, Sophia was the only one interested in the book that had very few pictures.

Moreaya sat as quietly as she could as I read about the mischief Harry and his friends go into in The Sorcerer’s Stone. But then something happened, they both started paying attention and hanging on to every word just like I do.

Fast forward to about 6 months later and we’re in full-on Harry Potter obsession at our house. We’ve already got broomsticks and robes ready for Harry and Hermione Halloween costumes.

We’ve got round glasses and have bought more chocolate frogs and Bernie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans than you can imagine. But one thing I haven’t been able to find them is Harry Potter t shirts that would fit them.

I found a couple of cute designs on Target.com, but they’re only available in stores and nowhere near us and the others I found were just too expensive. So I decided that we would make our own!

To get us Harry Potter World [<— what the girls call The Wizarding World of Harry Potter] ready, I gathered the supplies:

I downloaded a pack of Harry Potter SVG files for under $3 knowing that I would reuse them again and again on projects for the girls. I also just grabbed a plain blue t shirt from their closet since the only shirts I can find at our local Walmart right now are long sleeves, which will be way too warm for Florida in October.

I just purchased my Cricut Explore Air a couple of months ago on Amazon and to be honest, I haven’t learned everything the machine can do yet. It’s quite amazing and I’ve really only done vinyl and HTV projects so far.

I’ve made iron-on decals with my printer before and while those work fine, there’s really no comparison to what the Cricut can do. Look at those intricate cuts of Hedwig and the Sorting Hat – remarkable! Just a few presses of the iron and my HP decals are adhered and ready to go.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter, instagram, and Facebook to keep up with our Harry Potter shenanigans as we travel to Orlando later this week. While we’re there, we’ll be visiting Lake Buena Visit Resort Village & Spa which I’m as excited about as HP!

Take a look at that pirate ship pool, spa, and the amazing amenities this hotel has to offer. I’ll be sharing even more while we’re there and when we get back – so don’t miss it!
