Presenting Aluminyze: A New Kind of Art to Preserve Memories

Aluminyze Portrait

Thanks to Aluminyze for sponsoring this conversation and for the portrait that helped facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed are my own. There are so many ways that families can choose to preserve family memories - printed pictures, digital frames, canvas prints, and one of the newest forms, to me, is on aluminum plates. Aluminyze is a totally unique and revolutionary form of artwork for your walls... or desk or phone or... well, the possibilities are almost endless!  I chose to have a picture printed from our recent family beach vacation to cherish the memory and have a more recent photograph of the girls in our home. I ordered our print easily on the Aluminyze.com site.  I simply uploaded a picture from my iPhone [although they suggest you use higher quality images, I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of my plaque … [Read more...]

[a review of] ZizzyBee Bags Reusable Bags

ZizzyBee Giveaway

There are so many days in my life now that could be described by no other word but “chaos”. So, when I planned an anniversary trip for the hubby and myself, I knew that getting an early start on my packing and staying organized was going to be the key to avoid that ugly “c” word when it came time for us to leave. Unfortunately, I have never packed to go on a cruise before nor have I ever packed for 3 children to stay with grandparents for such a long stretch either, so I had no clue as to what I had gotten myself into. Fortunately, the day before we left, a couple of items arrived at the house that I had been asked to review a while back and I was so relieved because I knew that they were just what I needed to start (yes, I said start) packing. Don’t get me wrong, I did get the kiddos stuff packed and all of that was ready to go ahead of … [Read more...]

12 Things to Do on a Sevierville, TN Girlfriends Getaway!

Sevierville Collage

[tps_header]This post about 12 Things to Do on a Sevierville, Tennessee Girlfriends Getaway was inspired by my recent press trip to the area, at no cost to me.  All opinions are my own. I’ve mentioned a few times that I absolutely love living in east Tennessee… ok, I’ve mentioned it a lot.  But I do.  I was born here, went to college here, and am raising my own family in my hometown and couldn’t be happier.  Perhaps it’s a Southern thing, to be so proud of where you come from that you want to share it with the world?  Perhaps it's not just a Southern thing, but I do feel so much pride about my area and want to share it with everyone! So proud, in fact, that I've written a couple of posts about the Top 20 Attractions in the Smoky Mountains, as I really do see the mountains as my 2nd home!  So, when I received an invitation from the … [Read more...]

Dreaming of a Puerto Rico Vacation

sebg250x250

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. As I sit in on my deck overlooking the mountains of east Tennessee, I'm content, yes.  It's a beautiful sunny day, the breeze is blowing, but I can't help to think what the weather is like in other parts of the world. We live in the mountains and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, but it means one thing... we like to vacation near the beach.  And one place that's been on my mind for the past few weeks, after writing about it here on SEBG, is Puerto Rico! Ever since I've been dreaming of the all-star island filled with world class attractions.  Although it seems like a world away than the mountains of Tennessee, Puerto Rico is quickly accessible because there's no passport needed - just … [Read more...]

Organic Mineral Sunscreen from Bare Belly Organics

Sunscreen Stick

This is a sponsored conversation about organic sunscreen, written by me, on behalf of Bare Belly Organics.  I received products to facilitate this review, but as always, all opinions expressed are my own. I'm obsessed with sunscreen, which is why you'll often find me blogging about different kinds and religiously lathering my kids.  Today, I'm super excited to share with you a new brand, to me, that I am really, really excited about... Bare Belly Organics! In case you are pretty new around here and you don't know all of my back story, it's appropriate for me to share that... I'm a Melanoma Survivor. In fact - tomorrow will mark 5 years from getting the call that totally changed my life.  I still get sick to my stomach hearing the nurse tell me on the phone [yes, it was a horrific way to learn] that my biopsy came back with a … [Read more...]

Travel Wish List – Next Stop, Puerto Rico

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. If there's one thing I love it's travel.  I love talking travel, but most of all I like doing it and there's definite excitement surrounding traveling to places I've never been before. Puerto Rico is one of such places. It's a location I've always heard about, but never had the chance to visit on my own.  A couple that is friends of ours actually honeymooned there and loved it so it's always been on our Wish List, especially since travelling there is so easy - no need for passports or foreign money! It's no secret that I love the beach.  I've mentioned in posts a few times.  I suppose living in the mountains causes a girl to crave … [Read more...]

What Would You Rather Be Doing in Gulf County Florida? #GCFLNoFilter

GCFL Selfie.jpg

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gulf County, Florida for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Hello Spring!  It is so nice for the warm weather and flowers to have finally joined us here in east Tennessee.  The girls and I have been spending some lovely time outdoors - playing, planning our garden, and just lounging.  They're so excited for the warmer months of the year and have already been talking about all they want to do this Summer. One thing we're definitely doing is going on a Family Vacation to Florida.  Our vacation is coming soon too - just less than 2 months - and all four of us are counting down the days. A lot of families in our area travel South for their summer vacations.  It's not that our area doesn't have a ton to offer in the summer, it's just nice to get away from home and relax in a … [Read more...]

Our Recent Visit to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure

Seuss Landing Collage

I was provided complimentary tickets to Universal Studios Orlando in exchange for posting our experience.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own and our own adventures. We recently went on a little trip to Orlando, Florida.  It was such a quiet, calm, relaxing trip and we hardly did anything. that was a total lie. This vacation was anything but a real, relaxing vacation, but it was one of the funnest weeks of my life - definitely.  Even friends on instagram were saying "You must be exhausted!" because we were literally on the move and having fun the entire week.  A blast y'all... a total blast! And we finished the week off with one of the best days of the entire trip - a day at Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure.  Yesterday, I shared the fun we got into at Universal Studios and today's post is all … [Read more...]

Our Universal Studios Orlando Experience

Universal Globe

I was provided complimentary tickets to Universal Studios Orlando in exchange for posting our experience.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own and our own adventures. I've been talking and talking about our recent trip to Orlando, FL... to y'all [in just about every post I've written since we got back] to anyone who will listen in real life.  Why?  Because we literally had the best time ever and I want to go back like now... yesterday! I was so excited when I found out that we were going to get a few BIG Orlando attractions and the one that I was most excited about was definitely Universal Studios Orlando.  I went when I was a child, about 12 or so, and absolutely loved it.  Then, I went on a girls' trip with my Mom and a couple of family members about 5 years ago and Mom and I went back to Universal Studios and … [Read more...]

How the Combi Twin Cosmo Stroller Made Our Disney Trip a Breeze

Combi Sleeping

Did y'all know we went on a little trip recently?   No?!  Well, I'm quite sure you've probably seen me sharing photos on instagram, posts about our visit to SeaWorld, and well, lots of status updates about the amazing time we had at Disney World a couple of weeks ago.  And guess what?  I'm not done talking about it!  I hope that's ok! Seriously, y'all, if we had attempted to go to Disney with our double jogger OR our single stroller like I had decided to do before Combi sent us a Twin Cosmo for review, I would have had a much harder time.  Much harder.  Sure, we would have still had a great time, but honestly, this stroller made our trip a total breeze.  That's saying a lot for tackling Disney, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and more with TWO toddlers! When I pulled the Combi Twin Cosmo Stroller out of the box and saw it could do … [Read more...]

Our Visit to SeaWorld Orlando

Sea World

I was provided complimentary tickets to Sea World in exchange for posting our experience.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own and our own adventures. We absolutely loved our recent trip to Orlando, Florida.  Seriously - we did not want to come home.  There was so much to see and do in our short week that the only way to see it all is to go back, right!?  I'm still trying to convince hubby that's the case! One of our first days in Orlando was spent visiting 1 of the 3 big theme parks in the city, the one with an aquatic theme - SeaWorld Orlando! I barely remember visiting SeaWorld as a little girl.  I was maybe around 4 or 5 and I hardly have any recollection except for seeing pictures and hearing stories about our trip from my parents.  So, our visit was almost like a first time for all 4 of us! I … [Read more...]
