14 Things Surprising Things I Learned On My First Organic Farm Tour

Organic Farm Tour Pin

If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw a few surprising subjects in my pictures last week. Instead of sharing pictures of my girls [like I normally do], I was sharing pictures of cows! Yes, a little surprising, but I couldn't help myself because they were so cute up close. In fact, I saw more cows last week than I've seen in a long while - and that's saying a lot since I live in rural east Tennessee. I had the amazing opportunity to go on an Organic Farm Tour with Stonyfield Organic. I expected to learn a few things about organic dairy farms, but I was amazed at the knowledge and passion I returned to Tennessee with after just a 3 day farm tour. Cows aren't anything out of the ordinary here in Tennessee or to me... in fact, I was on a 4-H Dairy Cow Judging Team in high school! But there were quite a few things about this trip … [Read more...]

Hitching a Ride on the Step2 Wagon

Step2 Group Headquarters

I am a Step2 Ambassador and am partnering with Step2 for the following review. Last year I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Step2 Headquarters in Streetsboro, OH. At the time, I felt like it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but the even more amazing thing? I was able to experience it again this year as a 2015 Step2 Ambassador! After my visit to Headquarters this year, I really feel like I'm hitching a ride on a Step2 Wagon as it rides to the top. To the top of Kids' Wish Lists for Christmas, at the top of Parents' Lists when it comes down to toys they prefer, and to the top of American companies that consumers will continue to turn to and support. Upon entry into the building the first thing you see is... TOYS! Bright colors and Step2 toys remind you exactly what they're there for - to create toys that are fun … [Read more...]

3 tips for Relieving Moving Day Stress [+ a BOGO Coupon for RESCUE] #StressLess2BMyBest

Moving Day Stress

We're here - it's true, we've made the move and are getting settled in our new-to-us home! In fact, it's definitely not a new home at all. My family has moved into a 1920's Queen Victorian style house in the historic district of our town and we couldn't be more excited! We officially started the move on Saturday and we're still slowly bringing items in from our house, but we're semi-organized after 6 days and I can finally start to feel a sense of relief from the stress of moving, which is why I'm sharing my 3 tips for making moving day stress easier to handle thanks to a collaboration with RESCUE. Since we just finished the moving process or are almost finished, these tips are fresh on my mind and are definitely how I dealt with stressing over a huge life change that can really throw off your balance and definitely induce stress … [Read more...]

WeeRide USA Kangaroo Deluxe Child Bicycle Carrier

WeeRide Family

This post about the Kangaroo Deluxe Child Bicycle Carrier has been inspired by a collaboration with WeeRide USA.  All opinions are my own. Before our girls came along my husband and I loved to spend time outside.  We would work in the garden and around the house.  We would go on short hikes on mountain trails.  And we loved riding bicycles.  We've traveled to Damascus, Virginia a few times to ride The Creeper Trail. But after having the girls, riding bikes was something that definitely had to take a back seat - unless we had a babysitter for the day.  If only we had known about WeeRide USA when the girls were younger... we wouldn't have had to give up riding! Now when I was a toddler, I rode in a seat on the back of my Dad's bike.  I don't actually remember riding in that type of seat, but there are plenty of pictures to make me … [Read more...]

Combi Fold N Go Double Stroller

Combi Fold N Go Double Review

When Combi asked if I would like to review their new double stroller [at no cost to me], I jumped at the chance.  Last year we took the Combi Twin Cosmo Stroller to Disney and we quickly realized we would have never survived Disney without it.  It was our first double stroller and really a life-saver both at the theme park and even just running errands in our little town. So, why did we want to try out this double?  Because I knew if it was coming from Combi, it was going to be good.  The Combi Fold N Go Double Stroller provides ultimate convenience while encompassing a lightweight, compact, and portable design. The stroller fits through standard doorways and boasts one of my favorite features - a one-hand quick fold!  That's what sets the Fold N Go Double a little ahead of the previous Cosmo Twin.  The fold is so easy, ladies and … [Read more...]

A Review of the Lily Cup Compact: The First Collapsible Menstrual Cup

First collapsible Menstrual Cup

It's been awhile since I last talked menstrual cups, but they're still one of the most popular reasons people come to my blog.  I never imagined that I would write about such a subject like this but when something changes your life, literally, you have to share it.  So here I am, continuing to share my love and freedom that has come to my life, all courtesy of menstrual cups. I say those words, of course, with a little tongue in cheek behind them.  I try to make light of a sometimes gloomy subject - our period.  But the thing is, once I started successfully using a cup, I stopped dreading my period so much.  Of course I'm not going to go so far as to say I am happy when Aunt Flo comes to visit, but I don't wallow in self pity because I know the horrible cramps and endless amounts of tampons and bathroom trips. I've been a happy … [Read more...]

On the Go Snacks – Jif To Go Dippers

Airplane Travel

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Jif To Go Dippers. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating. A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to travel to Orlando for a Julius Jr. Weekend at the Nickelodeon Hotel.  It was a fabulous weekend of entertainment for the girls and one that none of us will ever forget!  Not only did we get to visit a city full of fun, but it was the girls' first time flying on an airplane. To say I was a wee bit nervous about flying with a 4 year old and a 2 year old... well, that's an understatement.  Sophia and Moreaya are really good girls, but any time you're talking going through security, sitting in a pretty tight space for an hour, keeping toddlers entertained, AND keeping them happy and fed while on the plane … [Read more...]

Our Weekend with Julius Jr. at Nick Hotel’s Preschool Celebration

This time just last week my little family of 4 was on an airplane just getting ready to arrive in Orlando, Florida.  I shared a few days before we left the exciting news that we were invited to the Nick Hotel to participate in the Julius Jr weekend - a part of Nickelodeon Suites Resort Preschool Celebration. It was truly a once in a lifetime type experience for our family - the girls first ride on an airplane... And a true weekend away from regular day to day life.  A weekend that was all about the girls from the moment we stepped foot onto the Nickelodeon Hotel property.  They were immediately immersed into scenes of some of their favorite Nick Jr shows and were anxiously awaiting the Julius Jr. weekend! I shared quite a bit of our weekend on Facebook, Twitter, and my instagram - including what the girls were greeted with as … [Read more...]

Presenting Aluminyze: A New Kind of Art to Preserve Memories

Aluminyze Portrait

Thanks to Aluminyze for sponsoring this conversation and for the portrait that helped facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed are my own. There are so many ways that families can choose to preserve family memories - printed pictures, digital frames, canvas prints, and one of the newest forms, to me, is on aluminum plates. Aluminyze is a totally unique and revolutionary form of artwork for your walls... or desk or phone or... well, the possibilities are almost endless!  I chose to have a picture printed from our recent family beach vacation to cherish the memory and have a more recent photograph of the girls in our home. I ordered our print easily on the Aluminyze.com site.  I simply uploaded a picture from my iPhone [although they suggest you use higher quality images, I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of my plaque … [Read more...]

[a review of] ZizzyBee Bags Reusable Bags

ZizzyBee Giveaway

There are so many days in my life now that could be described by no other word but “chaos”. So, when I planned an anniversary trip for the hubby and myself, I knew that getting an early start on my packing and staying organized was going to be the key to avoid that ugly “c” word when it came time for us to leave. Unfortunately, I have never packed to go on a cruise before nor have I ever packed for 3 children to stay with grandparents for such a long stretch either, so I had no clue as to what I had gotten myself into. Fortunately, the day before we left, a couple of items arrived at the house that I had been asked to review a while back and I was so relieved because I knew that they were just what I needed to start (yes, I said start) packing. Don’t get me wrong, I did get the kiddos stuff packed and all of that was ready to go ahead of … [Read more...]

12 Things to Do on a Sevierville, TN Girlfriends Getaway!

Sevierville Collage

[tps_header]This post about 12 Things to Do on a Sevierville, Tennessee Girlfriends Getaway was inspired by my recent press trip to the area, at no cost to me.  All opinions are my own. I’ve mentioned a few times that I absolutely love living in east Tennessee… ok, I’ve mentioned it a lot.  But I do.  I was born here, went to college here, and am raising my own family in my hometown and couldn’t be happier.  Perhaps it’s a Southern thing, to be so proud of where you come from that you want to share it with the world?  Perhaps it's not just a Southern thing, but I do feel so much pride about my area and want to share it with everyone! So proud, in fact, that I've written a couple of posts about the Top 20 Attractions in the Smoky Mountains, as I really do see the mountains as my 2nd home!  So, when I received an invitation from the … [Read more...]
