Considering your First 5K? Make it a Colorful one! {Knoxville, TN Promo Code & ALL Race Locations Giveaway}

first 5K

I ran my first 5K last year.  Technically, I ran a bit farther before that as I accomplished my goal of running my hometown's 4 Miler on the 4th of July, but still.  Running your first 5K is a special thing.  I couldn't have been happier with my time, because I didn't have one.  I couldn't have been happier with my running buddy, because it was my sweet hubby.  And I couldn't have been happier with the glow I had after the race... If you haven't heard of the Color Me Rad 5K, well, what rock are you living under?  Ok, maybe that's taking it a bit far, but seriously this 5K is taking the country by storm.  Events are selling out months in advance and for good reason.  It is FUN... and colorful.  When I signed up for the race last year, months … [Read more...]

All Moms are similar, but those with younger children really have to plan out the Summer accordingly.  We have little ones that are totally ready to be independent, bodies that might not be back to their fabulous shape yet, and delicate skin to protect!  Check out my list of must-haves, then let me know if you have something that you absolutely can't live without this … [Read more...]

I’m Getting Active and Earning Rewards: Steps with Balance Rewards

Steps with Balance Rewards

It's nice and sunny here in east Tennessee - I think I've mentioned that a few times lately.  It just makes me so happy, though.  The girls and I are spending as much time as we possibly can outside, everyday, and loving it! I'm also loving the fact that I feel like getting outside and getting active.  There's something about the cold months that makes me feel lazy.  Even though I could exercise perfectly well inside, it's just not the same as taking a walk outside! Last year I ran my first race, a 4 miler on July 4th, and then my first 3K a few months later... Hubby was my inspiration and my coach so I just asked him this past weekend to write me up a schedule so I could accomplish my goal again of running that 4 mile race in July!  I've also been using … [Read more...]

Yoga was one of my favorite activities when I was pregnant with both girls.  I really think it helped me tremendously, especially during my second … [Read more...]

Stylish Workout Clothes

There's something about Spring that just makes you want to be outside, right?  I mean, I'm sitting her at the computer gazing out the window, sitting in a room with no lights on because the sun is providing the perfect amount of brightness, listening to the birds chirp, thinking about putting on some workout clothes and going for a run, but I'm actually just... drinking Iced Coffee.  Well, granted it's Light Iced Coffee, but still. What if there was a way to get fresh produce, meat, and every other ingredient that goes into a gourmet meal delivered right to your door... fresh.  Too good to be true, right? Think Again! Hello Fresh does just that.  This brown box arrived on my doorstep and I could smell the faintness of deliciousness.  When I opened the box, I was so excited to see fresh produce that looked like it had just been picked out of boxes at the Farmers Market. I am all about fresh and easy.  Trying to entertain the girls while I'm preparing dinner is hard enough, but trying to entertain them while I'm making a grocery list and shopping - ha!  Hello Fresh gave me the opportunity to take it easy this week - no grocery list or shopping for 3 dinners.  The best part?  We didn't skimp by on PB&J … [Read more...]

On Track for a Happy and Healthy New Year with Walgreens and the Walgreens app.

Walgreens Manicure Needed

Did you make any New Years Resolutions?  I did.  I'm doing pretty good at the list too - now that we're 14 days into 2013.  The thing is, I keep adding to the list.  But that's ok, right?  I'm the Creator, the Do-er, and the Accomplisher of my own resolutions so I can.  It's all about making progress, which is what everyone's resolution should be. And I need to - you can tell by looking at that picture, can't you?  Yep, I've definitely added finding a bit more of "Me Time" to my resolutions.  My original goal was to be a Better Mother, Wife, and Blogger.  I set out a few statements to help me reach them, but I also quickly realized that in order to do any or all of those things, I needed to be a better Me.  I need to take care of my physical and … [Read more...]

I’m an Iced Coffee Addict #LightIcedCoffee

International Delight Light Iced Coffee

New Years Resolution Confession:  I'm an Iced Coffee Addict. I didn't necessarily make a New Years Resolution to lose weight - but I am only 7 pounds from my Weight Loss Goal, so it's there.  I admit that my Iced Coffee obsession hasn't been helping that number get any lower, until this past week. Ok, so drinking the International Delight Light Iced Coffee isn't actually going to make the numbers on the scale go down, but at least I can rest assured that the creamy deliciousness is not working against me so much anymore! You read that right - there is now a Light version of the popular International Delight Iced Coffee!  Since the very first time I tried this at-home Iced Coffee, I fell in love.  I shared it with my Mom, friends, and even had a party where the Iced Coffee was the center of … [Read more...]

Active Accessories #mamasnewlook Grand Prize Sponsor

Active Accessories

With the impending New Year coming {tonight, REALLY!?}, I've been thinking a lot about my upcoming look for the year.  I know I definitely want to hit my target goal weight and maintain - as well as start up my exercise and running routines again.  Now I have the perfect accessory to help me get active again... an Active Accessories Accessory Pouch! Since I had Sophia, I pretty much ditched a purse.  I quickly learned that toting a diaper bag and a pocket book was too much so I started carrying wristlets.  One of the problems I found was that if the wristlet held all of the things I needed it to - it was too bulky, or on the contrary too small to hold everything.  The cute little accessory pouch from Active Accessories is seriously the perfect size.  It holds exactly what I need it to - a couple of … [Read more...]

I previously reviewed the EatSmart Precision Pro Kitchen Scale, which I definitely credit with helping me eat better portion sizes and healthier foods.  A few weeks ago, I was sent the EatSmart Precision Tracker Digital Bathroom Scale.  Although it's not the only way to keep track of getting fit, tracking my … [Read more...]

Get in Shape at HOME – Work Out Clothes Delivered to Your Doorstep from pvBody

pvbody-logo

I haven't shared my Weight Loss Goal or Update in awhile, so I'm guessing it's about time, right?  I'm consistently sitting at about 125.  15 pounds down from my weight in July of this year.  I'm very happy with my weight loss up to this point, but my original goal is still 5 pounds away.  Although I've not been losing since the Winter season set in, I've maintained - so that's a HUGE WIN! Since it is Winter {and cold} here in east Tennessee, I haven't ran since I participated in my last {and first} 5K back in October.  I plan to pick up running again in the Spring, but I have a small problem.  All of my workout clothes are too big.  I have never said that about any type of clothes before in my life - what a great problem, right!? I was recently introduced to a … [Read more...]
