A Cat That’s Going Green: Eco Friendly Cat Litter from Swheat Scoop

Cat with Swheat Scoop

This is a sponsored conversation about eco friendly cat litter on behalf of Swheat Scoop.  All opinions expressed are my own. As a family that's been on a going green journey for over 4 years now [oh that fateful day that we decided to use cloth diapers while I was pregnant with Sophia], I've changed a lot of things in our household.  We use way less paper products and many more chemical-free products all over the house now.  One area that I hadn't really thought much about has to do with the 5th member of our family... Roxy! Roxy was my first child - as a graduating Senior in high school, I found her looking for a home and I took her into ours and she's made it through adding 3 more additions to our family since - Rob, Sophia, and Moreaya!  I once read a quote that your pets are your babies until you have babies and then they become … [Read more...]

Get Organized with the Brylane Home Shelf with Drawers

Inside Storage Shelf

I've featured BrylaneHome.com on SEBG quite a few times and today they're back and I'm sharing a review of the 5 Tier Shelf with Drawers. My home office is overrun with stuff - giveaway prizes, items waiting to be reviewed, toys that mysteriously appear, and even more stuff.  My desk is always cluttered and it just makes for a complicated and clustered work area.  I needed an organizing shelf that didn't take up a lot of space, but that would hold the random items that take over! Of course, there's a bit of assembly, like with any piece of furniture.  I was able to assemble the shelf by myself very easily and fast - I had it together within 15 minutes. My favorite thing about the 5 Tier Shelf is the Fabric Drawers that are included. There are 2 sizes - 2 large fabric drawers on the bottom and 3 on the upper half.  They really … [Read more...]

Natural Colored Cotton Clothing for Your Little One – Debest Baby

picture2

This post is brought to you courtesy of Debest Baby, who provided one of their adorable natural cotton onesies to Jamie of Momma Without a Clue  for review.  All opinions expressed are 100% Jamie's own. When a baby company goes above and beyond to keep our little ones healthy, they automatically earn credit in my book. That's why I was thrilled to be able to review a piece from their clothing line. You see, Debest uses naturally colored cotton to create beautiful clothes that will not only last for years, they're free from harmful toxins, bleaches, and dyes. For my baby girl, we received the "Blossoms In Bloom" short-sleeve bodysuit. This organic onesie is heavier than most of the other brands she's worn, but in a breathable kind of way. The natural cotton color is a gorgeous background for the little cherry blossom print, and the … [Read more...]

Luminance Skincare Giveaway Event – 3 Winners – US

Luminance-Giveaway-Button-Final-e1404928831648

Welcome to the Luminance Skincare Giveaway Event, hosted by Happy Mothering and the Green Moms Network. Today, we're excited to introduce you to an up and coming natural skincare brand - Luminance. Luminance Skincare was born when Priscilla, company Founder Kim's wife, became allergic to conventional skincare products. Just walking through the beauty section in a department store would have her down for the day with a migraine. After doing some research, Kim realized that his wife was reacting to the toxic chemicals used in most conventional skincare brands. He was appalled at how hard it was to go out and buy skincare products that would be safe for his wife (and everyone else) to use, so he decided to put his scientist skills to work and develop skincare products that would be safe for his wife. He started with soap, which … [Read more...]

Doctor On Demand: A Doctor That’s Always a Phone Call Away

Dr on Demand Emergency

This is a sponsored conversation on behalf of the Doctor On Demand App.  All opinions are my own. I count myself lucky that my family is pretty healthy in general.  I hardly ever have the need to visit a doctor and occasionally have to take the girls in for sick visits, but I still count myself lucky.  On those occurrences that we do have to make a doctor's office visit, I'm usually completely stressed out - waiting and worrying how long it will take to actually get an appointment, taking 2 kids into an office where so many germs are floating around, dealing with 1 or 2 sick kids in public when all they want is to be held by Mom at home, and don't even get me started on the worry about how much it will cost. But what about those times that they're sick on the weekends?  Holidays?  Vacations?  Moreaya actually ran a super high fever … [Read more...]

Making Homemade Baby Food: As Simple as ABC’s

Simple ABC Baby Food

Thanks to Cuisinart for sponsoring today's discussing about making homemade baby food.  All opinions expressed are my own. When Sophia was ready to start eating solid foods, I read a lot about making homemade baby food.  I knew the pros - it's cheaper, healthier and fresher, and just really all around better.  But it didn't seem easy.  I was a first time Mom and I needed all the shortcuts I could get so we bought organic jarred baby food. Then Moreaya came and it was her time to start eating solid foods.  Although you would think I would have been busier... since I had a 6 month old and a 2 year old, I challenged myself to make homemade baby food the 2nd time around.  You see, I had started reading even more and realized making your own baby food is actually really simple.  I would even venture to say making homemade baby food is as … [Read more...]
