Choose An Organic Crib Mattress for Your Green Baby

NaturalMat Latex Mattress

I received an organic crib mattress from Naturalmat to facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed are my own. This past weekend I shared a post on 7 easy ways to make your toddler green and today I'm sharing with you a switch that my family just made to make Moreaya more green! We bought our first crib mattress literally weeks from finding out I was pregnant with Sophia.  It was the first baby purchase that we made, actually my parents bought it for us, and I was ecstatic to have my first baby thing in her soon-to-be nursery!  I remember my Mom asking me if I had a preference on a mattress and I honestly didn't have a clue about mattresses, so I told her just pick one it didn't matter. Obviously it worked just fine - it went through now 2 children, but had I known then what I know now about a crib mattress and their … [Read more...]

The Learning Method Behind Dino Lingo – Language Learning for Kids

Dino Lingo March Giveaway.jpg

This giveaway is sponsored by Dino Lingo.  All opinions expressed are 100% my own. I'm back with another feature on Dino Lingo this month and I'm super excited because it seemed that you all loved the last one - let's do it again! Last month we focused on why you want your children to learn a second language.  For my family, it's because of my husband's Filipino heritage.  He's lived in the US since he was 10 years old, but Tagalog is technically his first language and what most of his family primarily speak at home, here in the US. I would love for my girls to be able to understand a bit more of his language, which in turn helps to promote their understanding and learning of the Filipino culture, in addition to the Tagalog.  Thanks to Dino Lingo - we're totally getting there!  They can now understand and say quite a few … [Read more...]

Stonyfield Organic Yogurt Pouches for #RealLifeMoments

Real Life Moments

I am a #StonyfieldBlogger and often get perks for being one.  I only share the brand because I am completely in love with their yogurt and all opinions expressed are 100% my own!  As a Mom Blogger, you often see little peeks in my life - sometimes big peeks.  I blog about my household, my kiddos, and our daily lives.  I share glimpses into our regular and not-so-regular days on instagram.  But I don't always share #RealLifeMoments with you.  Why?  Because we're in the moment and I usually don't look camera ready and the girls have chocolate-stained faces. Those Real Life Moments are what makes parenting worth it all, though, right?!  Those life moments when you're running around the house chasing a half naked toddler with your pajamas still on at 3 in the afternoon.  So, on those days, sure I could go in the kitchen and channel … [Read more...]

Become a Toxin Freedom Fighter with Me and Seventh Generation

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating. #FightToxins It's time for reform in America! No, I'm not getting all political with you today, I've recently become a Freedom Fighter... a Toxin Freedom Fighter!  It's time for chemical reform in our country and let me tell you why! Did you know that more than 80,000 chemicals available in the US have never been fully tested for their toxic effects on our health and environment?! We're hit with 300 toxins before we're even born!? Early exposure to chemicals can lead to Cancer and Alzheimer's?! The Toxic Substances Control Act was passed in 1976 and hasn't been updated since!? Staggering, I tell you.  So it's time for chemical reform and it's super … [Read more...]

Luckily, I received a package of YumEarth Organic Candy, perfectly decorated in Easter packaging this week [free for review].  To say my girls will be excited when they open up Easter Eggs filled with Gummy Bears and Fruit Snacks is definitely an under statement.  My girls get so excited when they see YumEarth packages come inside the house... almost as much as me. You see, not only do I love YumEarth Candy because it's organic and contains all natural ingredients - no artificial dyes or coloring!  So I can feel good about giving them the candy, but the other reason I love YumEarth?  It's delicious! Dino Lingo – Language Learning Program for Kids – Full Set #Giveaway – WW

Dino Lingo March Giveaway.jpg

This giveaway is sponsored by Dino Lingo.  All opinions expressed are 100% my own. I've reviewed quite a few products over the 3 years that I've been blogging here on So Easy Being Green.  Many of those were focused on my girls - which isn't a huge surprise since most of my life is focused on them too!  There have been a lot of products that I've loved, but only a few that I can easily name right off the top of my head as our favorites and Dino Lingo is definitely one of those few! The Dino Lingo system came into our family at the perfect time for my girls.  Sophia had just started becoming interested in learning Tagalog, the first language of her Dad who is Filipino.  Moreaya was at a perfect age to learn a new language and both girls were head over heels for dinosaurs.  Funny, but true - they're a bit dino obsessed! So to … [Read more...]

Disney’s FROZEN is On Repeat in Our House – How About Yours?

FROZEN Sisters

Somehow we ended up with 2 copies of FROZEN.  I pre-ordered one from and was sent another [for free to review].  Now I know why fate had it be that I ended up with two... because one of them is surely going to be worn out soon! Last year, around Thanksgiving, I got really really brave and decided to take my [then] 1.5 and 3 year old girls to the movies by myself.  I had heard such wonderful things about FROZEN and seriously couldn't take not seeing that cute snowman in the theaters.  So, we did it.  And guess what?  They sat through the whole thing.  That should tell you something - it was that good, even to them at such a young age. Guess what else? They continue to sit through this movie time after time after time after time after... ok, you get it.  We've watched this Blu-ray seriously more times than I can … [Read more...]

[a review of] Buttons Diapers Large Wet/Dry Bag

I received product to facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed are my own. Picture it... (yes, that was a Golden Girls reference) Valentine's Day, 2014... You've gotten yourself up and ready, you've gotten all three kids (2 & under) up, fed, diapers changed, dressed in the perfect coordinating outfits that it took you all night to pick out, teeth brushed (where applicable), and hair fixed. But most importantly, you are going to be ON TIME for your appointment for their Valentine's Day portrait shoot, which is a HUGE thing in your house.   You get there and walk in and things are going great. Kids are on their best behavior even while waiting for their turn. The photographer calls you back finally and says she will start with getting a shot of all three of them together. She takes the older two while you begin … [Read more...]

[a review of the] Duux Ultrasonic Air Humidifier

Duux Humidifier

Today I'm excited to share with you a product that my family certainly cannot live without.  Winters in east Tennessee are DRY.  Not necessarily from the lack of precipitation, but because the inside of our house is warm - not a bad problem is it?  Well, it can be when you're gas heat is running pretty constant and tends to dry out the air. Winter is a horrific time for my sinuses and for my girls too.  That's why we have a humidifier in every bedroom in our house.  We were recently sent the Duux Ultrasonic Air Humidifier [free for review] and I knew it was the perfect humidifier for the girls' bedroom! It's small, takes up such a tiny amount of shelf space, has a built-in nightlight, timer, and uses 80% less energy than other humidifiers. The Duux Ultrasonic Air Humidifier is a super simply, 2 piece system.  The water goes … [Read more...]

4 Tips for Helping Kids Deal with Daylight Savings Time Recovery

4 Tips Sleeping.jpg

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting  (#MC) for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. As I sit here writing this post about Tips for Recovering from Daylight Savings Time, I myself am a little more tired than normal because my girls didn't get the memo! And I know I'm not alone!  Just from scrolling through my Facebook Newsfeed this morning, I know so many other mothers were in the same boat as me!  Luckily, I have some fabulous tips to help you deal with this bi-yearly behavior!  I say bi-yearly, because all of us parents know that when we Fall Back, our kiddos never sleep that extra hour either, do they!? And if you're one of the lucky ones where your kiddo did sleep the normal amount of time - pat yourself on the back!  But … [Read more...]
