Nighttime Potty Training Continues

sleeppantscomparison

I was inspired to write this post in the When Parenting Gets Tough Series: Nighttime Potty Training as a part of participating in a campaign with White Cloud Sleep Pants.  This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of White Cloud Sleep Pants. Back in February, I shared the trials and tribulations {there have been lots} of nighttime potty training.  We've done the going straight to panties thing, we've done the limiting liquids thing, the wake them up in the middle of the night to go thing?  Yep, done that too. Sophia is just not physically ready.  That's what I've come up with and since deciding this back in February, we've both been a lot less stressed. Even though she's been potty trained during the day for almost 18 months now, we're both accepting … [Read more...]

Gardening With Kids: 8 Ideas to Get Your Child Involved

childgardening

I was inspired to write this post as Sophia, Moreaya, and I have connected over our garden this year.  I'm thankful for this opportunity to share with my children as a part of a project with The Home Depot.  This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot. We've always had a garden - since the first Spring that we moved into our house.  The first year our garden was great, but we were just learning.  The second year, I was 8 months pregnant, so I didn't help Rob much.  After Sophia was born, I really didn't help much - someone else kept me a little busy.  Last year, our third with a garden, I had an almost 2 year old and a 4 month old... still not a ton of time to devote to raising more living things! This year, oh this year, we have enjoyed our garden to the … [Read more...]

A Look at the Mombo Nursing Pillow

mombolounging_zps53a6f92b

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Comfort and Harmony for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. My babies are growing up.  Moreaya is already 16 months old and Sophia, my baby, is going to be 3 in less than 2 weeks.  It just doesn't seem imaginable.  I still see them both, so tiny. Even though I don't have a baby baby, I still love to look at baby products in stores.  Do you find yourself wondering over to the infant section and checking out all the new products?  I know I can't be the only one.  I was sent a Mombo nursing pillow a few weeks ago.  Although I'm not currently breastfeeding, I do remember a few things about the subject and being comfortable {both myself and the baby} was one of the most important parts of the breastfeeding … [Read more...]

Spring Butterfly Craft

butterflycocooncraft

I was inspired to write about a fun Spring Butterfly Craft that Sophia and I made while participating in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Elmer’s. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. There are some days that I miss working in child care.  Not that I miss kids, because obviously I have two that keep me busy, but I miss the crafts.  As the Director, I made sure that my staff and the children had a ton of craft supplies at their fingertips every day.  Crafting is so important to kids.  They feel a sense of accomplishment when they've created something.  Not to mention the joy they get with spending time actually making it. So, lately I've been making Crafts at Home a priority - like it … [Read more...]

My Keurig is Green

my keurig is green

... and yours will be green with envy when you see the delicious coffee I'm brewing!  I was inspired to write this post on how my Keurig is green while participating in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Dunkin' Donuts. I received a Dunkin' Donuts Party Kit to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. When I first started contemplating getting a Keurig, I was torn.  On the one hand, I saw how much coffee I would waste with a regular coffeemaker.  Hubby wasn't much of a coffee drinker, so making a pot of coffee for me to enjoy one cup in the mornings just wasn't economical. I asked around, even on the SEBG Facebook page and it seemed that everyone was a Keurig fan.  Even though using a plastic K cup can't be the green-est option … [Read more...]

I am a Cancer Survivor and I Won’t Be Silent. American Cancer Society Sponsored Video

survivor lap

I am so thrilled and honored to have this opportunity to tell my story as part of the American Cancer Society’s 100th Birthday Celebration.  This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the American Cancer Society. My family spent this past Friday night at our local Relay for Life. It’s been an event that I’ve been involved in for almost 10 years now. My extended family has been affected by cancer time and time again – my aunt is a breast cancer survivor, my maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather both lost the fight with cancer in the later years. For this reason and many others, the American Cancer Society has always been my family’s charity of choice. We participate in fundraisers and attend the yearly Relay Event. A little over four years ago, the Relay for Life was being … [Read more...]

What Do You Know About Secondary Insurance?

familypic

I was inspired to write this post when participating in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Aflac. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. I admit, I had never even heard of secondary insurance up until a couple of weeks ago.  We have medical, dental, and vision insurance through my husband's job and really, I thought that's all there was to have. Even though he has an absolutely wonderful job, the insurance at some times, seems a bit lacking.  We pay quite a bit in monthly premiums, but still end up paying when the girls go to the doctor for say, sickness.  And if I was to have another baby right now - oh my!  We would definitely be taking quite a hit in hospital bills - even with insurance. I … [Read more...]

All I Want for Mothers Day is… QUIET!

grandmawithgirls

I was inspired to write this post about my plans for Mother's Day while participating in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for MetLife.  I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. It's so true.  Everyday of my life seems so loud - there are always things pulling me in 15 different directions and this Mothers Day, I simply want quiet. You know the kind of quiet that comes from tiny footsteps on the ground... The kind of quiet where all you can hear is the sound of her {and your} heart beating with pure joy after you've chased each other around the yard, squealing... The kind of quiet that comes with this smile, although it stands for a thousand words... The kind of quiet that is sharing special moments with my family … [Read more...]

Thinking on My Toes: Creative Lunch Ideas and My Buffalo Chicken Fries Wrap

Creative Lunch Ideas

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community.  I was inspired to write this post on Creative Lunch Ideas as a part of this shop that has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias® and Tyson #cbias #SocialFabric Moms are always thinking on our toes, right?  We deal with two year old tantrums in the grocery store, diaper explosions {cloth or not}, and the lunch time rush.  I really don't know which of those three is more stressful.  It's like I just get done cleaning up breakfast and I look at the clock and it's already time to start thinking about what's for lunch!?  So, this Mom {thumbs point at myself} decided to get creative with lunch the other day.  Ok, actually I was just thinking on my toes, like any Mom does, … [Read more...]

The Importance of Buying Organic Plants and Seeds

Buying Organic Plants and Seeds

I was inspired to write this post about the importance of buying organic plants and seeds after partnering with The Home Depot Going Organic. I've received products and advice on how to make the best of my Organic Garden this year. We've planted a container garden every Summer since we've lived in our house.  Some Springs we started our vegetables from seed and sometimes we went out and bought plants that were already started.  There's something fun about seeing so many plants come from a packet of seeds.  It's such an inexpensive way to start a garden, but not always the easiest.  That's why often times we buy plants that are already have a bit of growth and maturity on them. In the past, we've purchased our plants from a local greenhouse.  We know that they … [Read more...]

Grilled Corn on the Cob {in Husk}

grilledcornfinished

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sunshine Sweet Corn. I received a gift card to purchase a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. I'm getting ready to share with you, a recipe that is quite possibly the easiest recipe you've ever read.  So easy, in fact, that you'll probably never cook your fresh, sweet corn in any other way.  So delicious that it doesn't matter how easy it is! How do you prepare Fresh Corn? Do you boil it?  Oh, no no no.  If you do, please don't anymore!  All of that sweet deliciousness is being left right in your boiling water! Do you microwave it?  Oh, Paula and Martha should be pounding on your door!  I don't care how many … [Read more...]

PLAY-DOH Board Books

Playdoh-Blog-Announcement-Image

This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own. I received PLAY-DOH books for the purpose of this review.  Amazon links are affiliate links. My girls love to read.  They would seriously be happier getting a new book than any kind of new toy!  Sophia caught the reading bug a little later than Moreaya.  As soon as Moreaya could crawl, she would always have a book in her hand because she would go straight to them! Sophia has always been a little more of a dependent child.  Although she's totally independent in doing things, she's not satisfied at just looking at pictures.  She wants to know what the words on the page say.  She wants you to read to her.  She wants to interact with the books. With out new PLAY-DOH Board Books, … [Read more...]
