This post was created in partnership with Stonyfield. All opinions are my own.
Summer is in full swing – it’s hot and the girls are loving that they can cool down with cold treats. The only problem with that is – they ask for cold treats all.the.time. So, after seeing my blogger friend Ruth’s post about making her own Fruit Ice Pops, I was inspired to put a Stonyfield twist and make our own Frozen Yogurt Pops! That way, the girls could enjoy as many frozen treats as they wanted because I would know exactly what was in them – and they’re healthy and delicious!
I decided to make these super simple, but there are so many variations you could choose. A fellow Stonyfield Yo-Getter actually made Peanut Butter and Jelly Popsicles that I’m dying to try! For our Frozen Yogurt Pops, I stuck with 2 different kinds of pureed fruit – Blueberries and Strawberries and went with good ‘ole Stonyfield Smooth and Creamy Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt.
Our blueberries were a bit on the tart side, so I threw in about a teaspoon of sugar, just to make sure the popsicles weren’t too tart and blended them into a beautiful puree in my Ninja Ultima Blender. How about those lovely popsicle molds?! While searching for molds on Amazon, I saw these from Zoku and I loved the shape and size of the Round Molds, so that’s what I purchased. They ended up working great!
My Frozen Yogurt Pop Assistant was fantastic. Sophia is happier helping me with tasks around the house and cooking than she is playing, so that’s how we’re keeping busy this Summer.
We layered the Frozen Yogurt Pops, alternating between Stonyfield Vanilla Yogurt and Pureed Strawberries and Blueberries. I tried to swirl them inside the mold so they would come out looking extra cool and we left them to freeze overnight.
Speaking of cool – this was such a fun project from start to finish. The amount of fruit and yogurt it took was minimal and the taste – well, it was truly delicious. I think this is definitely going to become a weekly activity for our family to do – even in the Winter!
Moreaya couldn’t decide which flavor she liked the best – so she sampled them all! And both girls thought that I was the “best Mom EVERRR” for letting them eat popsicles for Breakfast!
Little did they realize that it was the same breakfast they usually have – just in a different state. It’s my little secret for now!
So that’s how we’re having some Stonyfield Fun this Summer. I gotta know…
