Refresh Your Home & Health this Spring: DIY Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

I received products to facilitate this post, featuring a DIY Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub.  All opinions expressed are my own.

When Whole Foods Market sent me some fabulous tips about how to refresh my home and health this Spring, one stood out in particular… making my own DIY Body Scrub!  Today I’m sharing with you those same tips, as well as the recipe for my DIY Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub!

The Spring time is a great time to re-evaluate how you treat your body.  The days get warmer and longer, which encourages more exercise and time outdoors.  The idea of wearing a bathing suit in the coming months usually changes our minds about the foods we’re eating too!

Eating and snacking healthy is easy when you receive a package full of delicious goodies from Whole Foods!

For a tasty and satisfying on-the-go snack – perfect for spring hikes and picnics – check out Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks or Bearitos Pita Chips, a newly launched snack made exclusively for Whole Foods Market. Bearitos is a line of wholesome snacks, like corn tortilla chips and popcorn, made with natural ingredients and no hydrogenated oils.

Super seeds offer a super way to elevate your oatmeal or yogurt snack with satiating choices like our 365 Everyday Value® Chia Seeds and 365 Everyday Value® Organic Brown Flaxseed.

I’ve never really used Flaxseed in anything, but lately I’ve been enjoying mixing it into my yogurt and I replaced some of the flour in a banana bread that I baked with the Organic Brown Flaxseed.  I couldn’t tell one bit of a difference and I know it’s a much healthier option!

Beauty from the inside out

Rejuvenate your beauty routine with staples from our Whole Body department. Here are some easy, wallet-friendly and DIY ways to treat yourself!

With products like 365 Everyday Value® Turbinado Raw Sugar and 365 Everyday Value® Organic Expeller Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil, I couldn’t help but to make a fabulous DIY body scrub!  And instead of choosing the obvious choice for relaxation, like a Lavender Essential Oil, I chose to add a few drops of 365 Everyday Value® 100% Pure Tea Tree Essential Oil!

Make Your Own Scrub This Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub totally invigorates me when I use it in the shower and Tea Tree Oil scent uplifts my mood and helps refresh my skin.  The Raw Sugar is gentle on my skin, when mixed with the Coconut Oil and feels amazing!

I used 2 parts Turbinado Raw Sugar with 1 part Virgin Coconut Oil.  It mixed much easier than I thought it might – because of the low melting temperature of the coconut oil, it went together nicely.  I added a few drops of Tea Tree Oil, but you could use any essential oil depending on your mood!
