Remember a couple of weeks ago when I shared my excitement over the new seed pods from Miracle Gro called Gro-ables?! I felt like I could finally, really feel successful in growing plants straight from seeds. I’ve tried before and usually lose more than live, but with the ease of Gro-ables, I was optimistic.
I received my 3 pods just a couple days after my first post. I was hoping to get a Cilantro pod, so I could make some deliciious homemade salsa, but instead I received Butterhead Lettuce, Basil, and Dill Seed Pods. No worries – I’ll be scouring Pinterest for some great recipes to use them all!
The pods looked just like the pictures, simple and ready to go straight in the ground. Each Gro-ables has a paper top which lets you know every thing you need to know about the veggie or herb you’re going to grow. Perhaps my favorite part of Gro-ables is the fact that I can’t mess it up. All I have to do is stick the pod right into the ground – not covering with any extra dirt – and water it. The seeds are already at the right depth and ready to grow!
I know you want to know how my precious little Gro-ables are doing, right!? Well, I planted them inside just a day or two after I received them. I planted inside because we were still having a couple of cold nights so I didn’t want to take any chances. And the first little sprout of green that came up got Sophia SO excited. I have to say, it did me too!
After just 2 weeks of growing, we’re well on our way to some fabulous Basil herbs and Lettuce Leaves!
