I fell off the wagon this year folks.  The “I’m going to get healthy, keep off this baby weight, and eat right” wagon.  Last year I did so well with my running and exercising.  I got down to only 5 pounds from my total goal weight of a 20 pound weight loss!  It was incredible!  I felt great, had so much energy, truly loved myself and how I looked.

Then  in the Winter, the laziness and weight crept back on slowly.  Now, I haven’t gained it all back – thankfully, but honestly I have no clue how much I have gained back.  I haven’t stepped on my bathroom scale in months, fearful of what the numbers will say.  I’m not trying at all.  I sit, complain, mope about how I look and feel and do absolutely nothing.

Totally makes sense, right?

No, no it doesn’t.

But it’s going to change.  I’ve talked to my husband, who wrote out an excellent exercise plan for me last year and he’s going to do just that again.  He gave me some super easy tips on getting back into it.  I’m trying to watch my eating habits – picking easy, healthy snack foods instead of gross, convenience foods.

And I need to start taking supplements – at least a Multi Vitamin to help me get on track with the nutrients and vitamins that my body is so desperately craving.

I was recently sent to try out the NUTRILITE® Supplement Recommender.  It’s a great online resource tool that asks questions about your age, background, and lifestyle to determine which supplements are best for you.  I loved it.  It took literally less than 5 minutes to answer the questions about my daily activities, goals as far as weight goes, and my intake of different types of foods.

It made me face the fact that I do not eat well, at all.  I do not exercise enough and I definitely don’t get the vitamins and minerals that I need from fresh fruits and vegetables.

In the end, I wasn’t one bit surprised at the results from the NUTRILITE® Supplement Recommender.   I know I definitely need to start a Multivitamin regimen and my in-take of Omega 3s is abysmal, as is my sunlight exposure in the winter months so I know I’m severely lacking in Vitamin D.

Although I wasn’t that surprised at the results, I am really happy that I did participate in the NUTRILITE® Supplement Recommender questionnaire because it really takes the guess-work out of trying to find what supplements will be best for me to start with.  Because the Recommender is a scientifically-based tool that determines what I need most in my current stage of life, I’ll definitely be following it’s recommendations!
