Safe, Healthy Cooking with Green Pans – Holiday Gift Idea

After I became a Mom, it was like everything I ever buy is always for someone else.  I don’t buy myself clothes very often, no new books or movies, but when I do want something it’s usually for the house.  Today’s Gift Guide is one that any person on your list that loves to cook, will love too!

You can almost bet that every Christmas I have some sort of Kitchen item on my list.  Sometimes it’s as simple as a strainer and pizza slicer, but this year, oh this year, I have found a new line of pans that I love and I want to throw out all my old ones and replace them all with Green Pans.

First, let me share a little background on why Green Pans are, well, green – straight from their site:

  • Healthy cooking is not only about the foods you use: it is also about the right cookware.   The patented Thermolon™ non-stick technology is heat resistant up to high temperatures. This means that GreenPan™ has an extra safety feature; if you overheat your pan, even up to 450/850, no toxic fumes will be released and the coating will not blister or peel.
  • The Thermolon™ surface provides great non-stick and is very easy to clean.
  • GreenPan™ products are cadmium- and lead-free
  • We process used materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials. Therefore we use upcycled stainless steel for the handles and upcycled aluminium for the cookware bodies.

I had heard of Green Pans before, but this is the first time I’ve actually used one.  I was a little concerned about sticki-ness, especially since I was sent the “I Love Eggs” pan.  Normally, I use our stainless steel frying pans to scramble eggs and I always have a rough time with the eggs sticking, which makes clean up a true headache.

greenpanscookingeggsWell, let me just say that I seriously want to completely re-do our kitchen in all Green Pans products just after using this one pan.  Our eggs cooked wonderfully and fast, on a relatively low heat and it was like I coated the pan with butter {which I assure you I did not}!

The “I Love Eggs” pan is a part of the Lima Plus 3D Collection of Green Pans which features different cooking surfaces inside the pans that are specifically made for certain foods – there’s a Fish & Veggies Pan and also a Meat & Poultry Pan too.  The “I Love Eggs” pan has a smooth surface made especially for cooking eggs and is perfect for pancakes too!

The only thing about Green Pans that holds me back a bit is the price.  The “I Love Eggs” pan that I received retails for $39.99 itself.  It is possible to find these pans on sell at retailers like Macy’s and Dillard’s, so that’s a positive.  I also have to remind myself that good, quality products are truly an investment and I hope to see this pan last a really long time!  And that healthier, safer options for my family ARE worth the investment!

Green Pans can be found on a variety of social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and instagram!

Happy to see this review – and your great pictures….I’ve been wanting to replace my old pans for health reasons but haven’t “pulled the trigger” on a purchase for price considerations….these look awesome….time to start replacing….one pan at a time, lol!!

  5. I got rid of my Teflon pans because of the chemicals but would like a non-stick alternative like these.

  7. Wow – most people are concerned about food, but haven’t given thought to the cookware. This would make great gift -for yourself and family or for someone else!!!! I never heard of this before.

I need to get one of these Green pans because they are made very well and without chemicals. I cook a lot and need to get a new pan. I will have to look for it at Macy’s this Holiday season, since I will be going there. Your eggs turned out really well with this pan,
