Spending This Summer Outside… with Snapple!

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

This is our first real Summer that we’ve spent outside as a Family and we are loving it!  Sophia was born at the end of May in 2010 so that Summer was pretty much spent indoors with a newborn.  The next Summer, Sophia had just turned 1 and I was already pregnant again {what was I thinking!?} so time spent outside was short for the both of us.  Last Summer I had a 6 month old that only wanted to crawl on the grass and a 2 year old that was quite needy – still limited time outside.

This year, oh this year, we’re making up for the past 3 Summers, that’s for sure!

We’re outside more than we are inside this Summer.  Whether it’s in the garden, splashing in our little pool, or visiting a local water park – we’ve been soaking up the sunshine {with sunscreen on – no worries} for the past two months!

Just a couple of days ago, I decided to throw a fun play date for some of the girls’ friends {and it was a great chance for me to get some ME time with girl talk with my friends!}.  We got out the pool and let the kiddos splash and run around the backyard.  We even had them all bring a picnic lunch so it would be extra special.  Then, I brought out the Sugar Cookies and ingredients for Patriotic Fruit Pizzas!

The kids absolutely loved decorating their own fruit pizza – especially the deliciousness of eating them after layering!  {The Mamas enjoyed it too!}

I’m always at a bit of a loss when it comes to serving food and drinks for get togethers like this.  Of course, the kiddos are easy to please, but sometimes us Mamas want a little extra something special!  While I was shopping at Walmart the other day, I spotted a new product from Snapple – SnapTea.  Instead of the normal glass bottles I’m used to seeing with Snapple, this gallon jug seemed the perfect refreshment for the Mamas at my upcoming playdate!

Turns out I was right, it was a big hit – I could have fooled everyone into thinking I had made homemade brewed Iced Sweet Tea if it wasn’t in the jug on the table!

So here’s to more successful playdates, running around the yard regular days, and splashing in the pool for the rest of the Summer too… while spending this summer outside with Snapple!

What is your go-to drink to serve to adults during playdates or cook-outs?

  1. Looks like those kids had a blast! SnapTea looks like a tasty refreshment!

  2. Sounds delicious right about now! Love your pics and can't wait to try out Snap Tea!

  3. It's my dream to have a fully functional backyard that the kids and I can enjoy.  Next summer, when all of my littles are walking, it'll be done!  For now, though, we're just having to make due with the neighborhood parks.

  4. Oooh, I've never seen Snap Tea before!  I'm going grocery shopping today and I'm definitely going to look for it! I'm looking forward to spending time outside this summer too.  Last year I had a newborn and we were cooper up for the entire time.

  5. I feel ya about the missed summers! Hopefully next summer I'll be able to make up for the lost ones- 2010 I was hugely pregnant, 2011 I had a crawler, 2012 I was hugely pregnant again, and this year I have a 2 year old and crawler- 2014 will be our summer! haha! ;)

  6. I can't wait to try SnapTea – looks like the perfect summer drink!
