Bunny Stuffy with FREE Pattern + 17 MORE Homemade Easter Gifts

Homemade Easter gifts are a great way to show someone you care. Whether they’ll be added to an Easter basket or just given to someone special, these are great ideas to make friends and family around the Spring holiday!

DIY Easter Gifts to Sew

I’ve been sitting in front of my sewing machine quite a bit lately. Although I definitely still consider myself a beginner at sewing, I’m really enjoying diving head first into some fun projects!

One of the reasons that I wanted to learn how to sew is to make cute, one-of-a-kind homemade Easter gifts for my girls, so I decided that this Easter would be a perfect time to do so!

I had already purchased some fabric with a plan to make the girls a very simple Easter dress. I picked out fabric that represents their personalities [and blue obsessiveness on Sophia’s part] for their dress.

I decided that they definitely needed a cute Homemade Bunny Plush to show up in their Easter Basket to match their dress – so voila!

But the thing is – these bunnies multiply. Fast. No, really they did!

They were too cute and pretty easy and fast, so I thought about the two birthday parties we are attending [both kiddos will be 1] on Easter weekend and thought I could add one to their gift.

Then I thought about 3 other special kiddos and thought they would appreciate a little bunny too!

Then I had a whole little stash of homemade Easter gifts for extra special kids in my life!

These bunnies are so easy and quick to make and take just a small amount of fabric that you can whip up one [or a lot like me] in just a few minutes!

Here’s all you need:

That’s it! These are small rabbits so just a little fabric will do. You’ll want to cut out two pieces of fabric that mirror each other. They can be the same pattern or coordinating for different front and backs.

Sew the patterns together inside out, leaving just a small space to be able to turn your project and fill. Turn your bunny inside out and fill with your choice of stuffing material. I prefer using filler like this.

Then sew up your small hole and you’ll have an adorable homemade easter gift!

  3. Cut 2 bunny patterns of fabric, that mirror one another.
  4. Pin and sew the patterns outside facing each other [inside out], leaving a small hole to stuff.
  5. Turn project right side out and stuff.
  6. Sew up small hole!

After seeing the cuteness of the homemade Easter gift bunnies, I was then inspired to try this cute Easter-inspired Pot Holder. I’ve been needing a pot holder for awhile and planned on doing a scrappy one, but since I had some sweet pastel colors begging to be used… I did it!

This was also a super fast project even for a beginner like me! It gave me more great practice sewing and was my first “rounded” sewing project!

You can view the whole tutorial here, on the Miss Mary Sewing Classes blog.
