It's beginning to look a lot like Spprrrinnnng… Everywhere we go!
Ok, so yes, I'm singing that to the tune of "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas", but I just can't help myself. I'm so ready for Spring to be here and this sunny, although a bit cool, weather is making me want it to hurry up even more!
Even though we've had to bundle up, the girls and I have been trying to fit in some outside time during the day. As you can tell, Moreaya is really enjoying our backyard swing set as much as Sophia this year!
Although we're not quite ready to spend most of our days outside, we went around the yard picking up sticks and debris a few days ago. Sophia also wanted to play in her playhouse, but she didn't like that there were a few bugs inhabitants in there! We also found that we forgot to bring her outside cooking toys in the garage the last time she played with them and boy, were they dirty!
We have a few Spring Cleaning projects in mind for the Playhouse itself, like re-staining and even building a platform/deck for it to sit on so we won't have to worry about grass, mud, weeds, and hopefully too many stray critters! But today, Sophia and I decided to tackle some spring cleaning of her toys!
The girls have an abundance of play food and play plates and utensils, so last year I took some of their duplicate items and made a tub of toys that they could play with outside. This keeps inside toys in and outside toys out! The outside toys usually get washed outside, but since it's still a little chilly, we brought them in. I normally would do this myself as a nap time Spring Cleaning activity, but I thought Soph would enjoy playing in the water helping me.
I recently received a few bottles of the new Palmolive Fresh Infusions and thought this Spring Cleaning task would put them to the test!
I filled my half of the sink with warm water and some of the Palmolive Fresh Infusions Ginger White Tea dish soap. Turns out, it made even the dirtiest of toys smell pretty good.
Sophia's side of the sink had cool water where she rinsed off the soap. {Don't mind the Princess Crowns that we made earlier in the day!}
We then let them dry!
The activity could have probably gone faster and our floors would have stayed dry, if I did it myself – but how's this little lady ever going to learn if I don't teach her about Spring Cleaning!? We both had a blast doing it too – we actually made Spring Cleaning fun!

2 Days Left

It’s not looking like spring here at all. We’ve had snowstorms the last two weekends, and another on the horizon for this Saturday! I’ll be looking forward to the day when I can THINK about spring cleaning!
I’m wondering when the new Palmolive will be in my area, I’ve been looking for it!
Aww, I love that playhouse! It’s a great idea to have toys designated for outside play.
My son hasn’t participated in any spring cleaning yet, but I plan to have him helping soon!
Love that playhouse! Great idea to get the kids involved in the toy cleaning…a good introduction to Spring cleaning!
Great way to include her in spring cleaning! Love the crown!
It doesn’t look anything like spring here….we still have snow! We don’t have a lot of outside toys to clean up, but I think I’ll have Rissa help out!
How fun was that?! My boy loves to wash dishes with me and it keeps me motivated because he gets so excited. I haven’t seen these Palmolive soaps, but dish soap is on my shopping list so I will have to check them out!
That is one awesome playhouse! I dread cleaning all of my daughter’s outdoors toys. They sat on a moving truck for a month and then went right into our garage. I’m sure I’ll need plenty of Palmolive!
ahhh…we desperately need to clean the outside toys! I prefer to just spray them off with the hose, but I suppose you’re right in that the play food needs to be cleaned.
What a fun way to get this chore done! I bet the toys smelled nice and she was happy to have her toys clean for when it gets nicer outside.
I am so ready for spring to be here too! It’s great that you let your little girl help out, even though it makes more of a mess, it’s good for them to be involved! I haven’t seen the new Palmolive yet, I’ll have to check it out!
