Moreaya turned 1 yesterday. I have to keep saying that to myself over and over to believe it! Hubby and I were talking last night and I said "We're parents of a 1 year old and a 2 year old". For some reason that just blew my mind!
Being the second child has to be a hard life, well, not too hard, obviously. I was an only child, so I wasn't aware of the hand-me-downs and the lax parenting. Not lax on safety, mind you, but lax as in "Well, will she really know if she doesn't get a big Birthday present? I hate to buy Moreaya that – she could just use Sophia's." Etc. Etc. See – that's tough! Maybe not a 1 year old, but it might get to that point later on.
But I was so excited when Moreaya's Birthday Present arrived on our doorstep. See, Moreaya is always getting hand-me-downs. She used Sophia's infant car seat, then moved on to Sophia's older convertible seat, but thanks to The First Years – Moreaya now has her own Convertible Car Seat! Not only that – it's a truly stylish {and SAFE} seat that makes her Big Sister just a bit jealous, I do think!
The First Years True Fit C670 Premier Convertible Car Seat model arrived when both girls were napping, so I had the chance to totally check it out for myself and I was so excited to see the features. The colors, patterns, and quality of materials stood out right away. The contrasting patterns make the car seat a bold choice for both boys and girls. I love a gender neutral seat that still has pizazz!
One of the first features of the seat that you notice quickly is how wide it is. This will mean that you can't fit 3 across in a car seat, but it will also meant that your child has a much more comfortable seat.
The convertible car seat came in the box set on the smallest setting. I knew Miss Moreaya was way past 5 lbs {yep, this seat will hold children from 5-65 lbs!!!}, so I started to un-thread the straps at the back of the seat. I took them off and was puzzled with how to re-thread. Then I read the HUGE print on the side of the seat "NO RE-THREADING REQUIRED."
What!?! Where has this seat been my whole life? I absolutely hate to re-thread straps. Moreaya and Sophia are very close in weight, separated by only 4-5 lbs, close in height as well, but they are on different settings in a car seat. I've always wished that we could easily convert a seat to fit each of them – not necessarily in my van since they both have a seat, but in Rob's car {where there is only one seat} or my Mom's {she only has 1 seat as well}. Guess what?! If this was the seat they were using, we could! To change the height of the straps, you simply pull on both yellow tabs at the back of the seat. Easy Peasy!
The thing that really sets the The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat apart in my mind is the ease of use. You'll see what I mean as we go on, but I'm not alone in thinking this way. That's why the True Fit was rated as the Government's Highest-Rated "Ease of Use" car seat! Why does that matter, you might wonder? Think of it this way – if it's easy to use and install, then less mistakes will be made when using/installing, making the car seat as safe as it can truly be – as safe as it was developed to be! We've all heard it – the majority of car seats are installed incorrectly. The True Fit makes it hard to do that – it's so easy. I was just amazed at how informational the seat was itself.
Everywhere you look on this seat, you see instructions. Not annoyingly placed tags, but instructions that tell you exactly what to do in plain terms, so you can't mess it up. The even have a built-in holder for the Instruction manual in the back of the seat!
One thing that so many parents might do wrong is the chest clip placement on a car seat. Here's an example of how the True Fit makes it easy – the picture on the clip shows you exactly where the clip should go on your child! Such an easy, subtle reminder of safety.
There are no worries with extended rear facing with this seat either – actually, it might be one of the best choices for an extended rear facing child, for a few reasons.
Convertible car seats are sometimes hard to fit into tight spaces, especially when rearfacing. The First Years remedied this with the Amazon by making the headrest removable. It's easy to take off and on with the lever you see on the right. The recommendation is to use the headrest when your child's head is less than an inch from the top of the seat, which Moreaya's is, as you can see from the picture on the left – so we do use the headrest for her.
There are two different belt paths with this car seat, one for forward and one for rearfacing. I love that the belt {or in our case we're using the LATCH system} buckles down inside the seat to keep it more stable and safe. There again, you have very easy instructions hidden within the seat to cause little confusion on how to use the system!
The last feature that makes this car seat a great one for rear facing is the Rebound Control board. I had never seen this in a car seat before so I was pretty impressed.
The C670 model features smaller bottom rails and the patented Rebound Energy Management system…a flip-up rebound bar that actually helps manage the rebound in the unlikely event of a crash. Pull the bar forward and it snaps in place with your rear-facing installation, and flip it back when you move to the forward-facing installation.
The seat doesn't skimp on nice features either – the LATCH system is so easy to use. The seat comes with one removable cup holder, that can be placed on either side of the seat, and the padding in this seat is nice! Sophia proclaimed it to be "so comfy"!! There's a removable head pad for smaller children and the seat pads also make for easier cleaning. I couldn't possibly relay to you every feature of this seat, so be sure to check out all the information and specs on the The First Years website and the True Fit C670. You can even see a 360 view of the seat!
Miss Moreaya is quite happy to have a new stylish seat and I'm happy that I know she's riding correctly and most importantly safely when we're away from home!

I love that there is no rethreading!!! Oh i need this!!
Looks like a great seat!
Swooning over here!!!
Love all your pictures and all the options for this seat! No rethreading is great!
Love the no rethreading! Too bad it is so wide, but it looks really comfy!
Wow, I really like it. It’s got great ratings for safety and ease of use, plus it’s affordable. The 65 pound max is pretty cool too. There are some car seats out there that offer a higher max weight, but for the most part, none of them offer a tall enough seat to accommodate it. This one has a pretty good range. 65 pounds and 50″ tall.
Thanks for sharing!!
This is the seat Grady has! His isn’t this version, as we’ve had it for a year or so now, biut it’s great!
No rethreading! Yes, please! Great pictures!
Great option for a car seat. It looks really comfy, too, with plenty of padding. I also like that it can be rear-facing for longer.
I love that there is no threading!!! Looks totally awesome!
Car seats have gotten so much more user friendly!
Wow, I wish that this option was available when my kids were in car seats. Amazing the new items.
No rethreading sounds super legit. I love convenient little gadgets!
