Did you make any New Years Resolutions? I did. I'm doing pretty good at the list too – now that we're 14 days into 2013. The thing is, I keep adding to the list. But that's ok, right? I'm the Creator, the Do-er, and the Accomplisher of my own resolutions so I can. It's all about making progress, which is what everyone's resolution should be.
And I need to – you can tell by looking at that picture, can't you? Yep, I've definitely added finding a bit more of "Me Time" to my resolutions. My original goal was to be a Better Mother, Wife, and Blogger. I set out a few statements to help me reach them, but I also quickly realized that in order to do any or all of those things, I needed to be a better Me. I need to take care of my physical and mental health and take off my Mom and Wife hat, even for just long enough for a bubble bath, and put on my Lindsey hat.
Here's how I'm accomplishing a few of those tasks – the Walgreens iPhone app. Yep, seriously. It's no surprise that I take my iPhone with me everywhere – even in to the bath tub sometimes {on that rare occasion I get to soak awhile}. I enjoy catching up with my instagram and Facebook friends. I even do a little online shopping and reading on my phone from time to tome too. I can even order prescription refills, check weekly ads, and set up some medication reminders all in the Walgreens app.
Now, I know – a bubble bath should be a little more relaxing than worrying about some of those tasks, but honestly, doing it this way makes it seem less of a chore. It's nice because if I just suddenly remember that I need to refill a prescription, I can do it easily from my Account – or if I'm not in the tub – I can refill by Scanning the Prescription bar code.
So, how is this helping me have a #HappyHeathy year in 2013? It's easy and convenient.
I've also promised myself to do better about taking multivitamins and probiotics. The thing is – I have Mommy Brain. Can anyone relate? I do good to remember the girls' medications, daily activities, and to remember my own is on the last of my list. That's not good for my physical health, though! When I was searching around the Walgreens app I found the Reminder tab. You can set Daily reminders for Medications or even reminders on when to refill medications.
But let's get back to the Me Time. Browsing around the Shopping part of the Walgreens app made me want to do a little retail shopping to get my resolution started. So the girls and I headed to Walgreens. I had to pick up a refill on this trip, which I could have easily done in store while I was shopping, but I just love the convenience of a Pharmacy Drive-Thru. I know. It sounds silly that I would go through a Drive-Thru and inside on the same trip, but this way I don't have to wait in line with two kiddos, be too close to all the sick people waiting on their medications, and I love using Express Pay! Super convenient.
After we got our prescription at the Drive-Thru, we went inside. I love shopping at Walgreens because they have unique products that you don't see in every store. It's usually not as crowded so we can browse as much as we want, which is what we did on this day!
I also love spotting those little tags underneath the product price. There's always a good deal to be found at Walgreens and it usually involves their Balance Rewards. I just recently cashed mine in for $5.00 off my purchase!
Since I was on a mission to improve my Mental Health and Happiness, I was on the prowl for some great products {it didn't hurt if they were on sale like these Nice! candles} that would help me relax and give me a renewed spirit as a part of my Me Time!
Nail polish was obviously on the list of items too.
When I got ready to check out with all of my goodies, I made sure to get credit for my purchase, by earning Walgreens Balance Rewards, by pulling up my "card" on my iPhone. If you're not earning on every Walgreens trip yourself, be sure to check out the program!
I realize that my physical health is going to be an important part of my 2013 resolutions, but it's fun to focus on the Mental Health and Happiness too – and necessary. Even though attaining my weight loss goal is important, I did pick up a few chocolate treats! I love these candy bards because I can break off a square and feel like I've had a real chocolate treat without eating the whole bar!
Thanks to my sweet hubby, I definitely enjoyed a few moments of me time with all of my goodies! I think I'll keep putting it on my New Years Resolution list every year!
What types of technology will you use to make 2013 #HappyHealthy?
You can connect with Walgreens on Twitter and Facebook, but my favorite way is definitely the iPhone Walgreens app! Be sure to check it out!

Great ideas for getting on track with resolutions. Keeping up on vitamins is on my list for the year, too.
I could so use a reminder for my vitamin each day…I think I’ll use my phone’s alarm for that! I also have the MyFitnessPal and Weight Watchers apps on my phone that I’m using to get healthier this year!
I need a good long soak!
you make Walgreens sound fun!! LOL and I also love drive thru anything!
Hmm…I think I need to take a little “me” time too! That looks so inviting! I love being able to take care of family matters on my iPad it makes life so much easier!
I just got a smartphone {my first one!!} a week or so ago! I think that is the technology that will make my life easier!
Also, love your nails.
I think you and I have the same manicurist.

I don’t shop a lot at Walgreens but I’m beginning to think I should lol. It really is a wonderful idea to take care of ourselves first so that we can take care of the ones we love. A nice bath is a great way to relax and have a little quiet time. Great post!!
The prescription refill part of the app is the best for me. Love it!
