New Years Resolution Confession: I'm an Iced Coffee Addict.
I didn't necessarily make a New Years Resolution to lose weight – but I am only 7 pounds from my Weight Loss Goal, so it's there. I admit that my Iced Coffee obsession hasn't been helping that number get any lower, until this past week.
Ok, so drinking the International Delight Light Iced Coffee isn't actually going to make the numbers on the scale go down, but at least I can rest assured that the creamy deliciousness is not working against me so much anymore!
You read that right – there is now a Light version of the popular International Delight Iced Coffee! Since the very first time I tried this at-home Iced Coffee, I fell in love. I shared it with my Mom, friends, and even had a party where the Iced Coffee was the center of attention. It's been on my weekly Shopping List ever since. When we got an at-home coffee brewer, Rob thought my addiction to the carton would fade. Nope. Trying to brew over ice always gives me a watered down drink that I just can't seem to get right.
Not every addiction is a bad one.
Oh no, no, no. This is a good addiction. My Iced Coffee habit has saved us lots of money. When I'm tempted at a drive-thru, I always think of my carton at home. I pay $3.98 at our local Walmart and get a good week's worth of Iced Coffee drinks out of it. ONE Frappe at even McDonald's costs almost as much!
But, as I said before, I know adding in extra calories during the day means that I need to burn extra calories. That's why when I heard about the Light version of this drink – I literally jumped for joy. Then I got worried about how they cut 1/3 of the calories out. I didn't worry long.
It turns out – no artificial sweeteners, just less sugar and low fat cream was the answer. Now I can enjoy my International Delight Light Iced Coffee with no guilt about doubling the serving size. In fact, I don't feel one bit guilty as I'm typing this blog post, sipping a cup.
Most of my blogging gets done in the mid-afternoon, during the girls' nap time. {Yes, my girls nap at the same time usually – I know, I thank my lucky stars every day.} It's so nice to enjoy the quietness, but I also get a bit tired myself. I need a little pick-me-up and my blue cup is exactly what I reach for.
Usually I enjoy my Iced Coffee over 2-3 ice cubes.
Sometimes when I'm feeling extra special, I dollop in a small scoop of frozen yogurt. It makes my drink extra creamy. I don't use a whole serving of froyo, so guess what? A small scoop paired with a cup of International Delight Light Iced Coffee gives me the same calories as the previous versions' caloric count! No guilt, not at all!
Rob even uses it to make his hot coffee tasti-er. It makes for a strong cup of coffee, but if you need an extra kick in the morning, it might be good for you too!
No matter how I choose to enjoy the new International Delight Light Iced Coffee – it's good. Really good. I honestly can't tell the difference between it and the regular version, so I believe we have a new drink on the weekly Shopping List now!

I have never understand the concept of iced coffee, seems gross to me, but so many people love it! But then again, I dont’ like coffee at all, just the smell of it!
I haven’t tried Iced Coffee yet – I’ll definitely give this a whirl. Regular hot coffee and International Delight Almond Joy creamer is pretty much my favorite thing about waking up in the morning though

I am an iced coffee fanatic, I’ll definitely have to check out the lighter version, because I like the other but it’s a bit sweet for me.
Why is it every time I see these, I think “Hmm..CHOCOLATE MILK!” lol. I saw these today in both Sams club and Walmart and again that was the first thing to go through my mind…”CHOCOLATE!” lol. They definitely make it look delicious. Although I’m not a coffee drinker.
I never knew they made Hershey’s creamers. Sounds so good!
