Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the Royal Ball – a Halloween Disney Princess Party!
A couple of weeks ago, I told you the Tale of a Blue Princess. Yep, that would be Sophia. She decided she wanted to be a "blue princess" for Halloween and we wanted to celebrate our little Princess with a fun Halloween Party, Disney Princess style! She was so excited – we went shopping for her Cinderella costume, bought lots of goodies for Princess and Prince Treat Bags, purchased plenty of Cinderella decorations, and even bought the Cinderella BluRay Diamond Edition for her to learn all about this fabulous blue princess that she loved so much!
A couple of days before the Big Event, Sophia and I made our special Princess and Prince treat bags and started filling them with goodies!
The excitement of filling the Treat Bags and seeing her Halloween Disney Princess Party come together was so fun for Sophia. She was so looking forward to the weekend! That same night we watched Cinderella for the first time during our Family Movie Night. Sophia has seen a couple of the other Disney Princess movies, but this was her first time with Cinderella.
Although a lot of jumping around ensued, I would catch her engrossed in the movie for a few minutes at a time. She loved the scene where the mice make Cinderella's dress!
Then on Thursday afternoon she woke up with a very high fever. We took her to the Doctor right away and they told us it was probably a virus. Our Party wasn't until Sunday, so I was confident she would be better. But – she wasn't. We had to call all her friends and cancel the Party – we rescheduled for Tuesday the 30th. We didn't tell Sophia because we knew she would be upset, but wouldn't know the difference if we just postponed it for a couple of days. I was worried that some of our royal guests wouldn't be able to make it since they were from out of town.
The day before the Party, Sophia's cousins came to visit. They weren't going to be able to make it to the Party {and our RSVPs were low}, so we decided to have a little Pumpkin Painting fun – an activity I had planned for all the little guests to partake in!
Since my girls are still small, it's much easier for them to paint pumpkins rather than carve them. We got these perfect size beauties at a Pumpkin Patch and used washable paint so we didn't have to worry about any messes!
Even though the paint was washable, we had to be careful with her Ball Gown, so she changed into it for the next activity… Cookie Decorating!
The boys just thought this was such a fun activity and were excited to "put on as much frosting as we want"?!? Even though it wasn't our official Halloween Disney Princess Party, they had a great time with the crafts and snacks and Sophia loved that her cousins got to see her Blue Princess dress!
Unfortunately, we heard back from everyone who was invited to our Royal Ball and no attendees would be able to make it. But we didn't want to disappoint our Blue Princess, so all day we prepared for our Party. We decorated the table, got our other crafts ready, and got all glam-med up for a Disney Princess Party to remember!
Both of the Princesses enjoyed decorating their own Crowns and Wands – although Big Sister Princess did most of the decorating and Little Sister Princess did most of the "re-decorating"!
The girls had a fabulous time at their Royal Ball! Sometimes it's not about how many guests you have, but the memories that are made. That's what our Halloween Disney Princess Party was full of – Family Memories that will last a Royal Lifetime!
If you're little one wants to be a Disney Princess too, be sure to download the Royal Ball App on your mobile device {apps available for both Android and iPhone products}. They can decorate their own carriage, dress up their own Disney Princess, and dance the night away at the Royal Ball!
There's also a great Disney Princess Party happening on Pinterest right now – but it ends tonight at midnight, don't be late or your Carriage will turn back into a Pumpkin! You can find directions and rules for the contest on the sign-up page. There's over $900 in Walmart GC's to be given away!
