I Chose to Spin Into Action! #SpinBrushCFK

I recently became aware of a great cause called Spin Into Action! It’s a national program brought forth by Champions For Kids to raise awareness of the healthy needs of children, focusing mainly on dental issues and preventive care. The program wants to educate parents and community members on the needs of both their own children, as well as those who might be less fortunate in getting the care that they need!

After reading these facts…

Over 19% of children ages 2-19 have untreated cavities. A child’s complete preventive dental program should include fluoride, at least twice-daily brushing, wise food choices, and regular dental care.

Tooth decay remains one of the most common diseases of childhood. Children living in poverty suffer twice as much tooth decay as their more affluent peers, and their disease is more likely to go untreated.

I definitely wanted to join in with this cause! Living in east Tennessee, we definitely have many families who struggle in living under the poverty line and I wanted to do my part in helping at least one child in our area! So I went shopping to Spin Into Action!

When I learned about what the program was doing, along with Arm & Hammer SpinBrushes, I was excited. I have never used an electric toothbrush before, mainly because I thought they were all expensive. I was surprised that when I started looking at the options at Walmart, they really are affordable!

You can see more of my Shopping Trip in my Google+ Album. There were lots of options, but I chose to definitely go with the Arm & Hammer SpinBrush. It was affordable, had a great design, and runs off 2 AA batteries {that were included}! The replacement heads were also available, in a package of two, for the same price as a toothbrush. The heads are made to last about 3 months, the same as a manual toothbrush but are supposed to work so much better!

I purhased three SpinBrushes – one for my husband and I and one to donate. I am choosing to give this to a little neighbor friend of ours, who doesn’t seem to have a lot. The parents take very great care of the child, but I think this will definitely be put to good use and maybe will even make brushing her teeth a bit more fun for her too! I was amazed at how much I enjoyed brushing with my new SpinBrush! It really feels like you’re at the Dentist office each time you brush and I’m really hoping to see a great difference in the whiteness of my teeth after using it regularly!
