We’re talking jars of baby food that are still within the expiration date and haven’t been opened.  If you have jarred baby food sitting around your house that your baby is either outgrown or just doesn’t want anymore, there are some things you can do with it!

  1. Donate it.  You could definitely donate to a local food shelter or a friend in need.
  2. Fruits/Veggies can be added into other foods that you make for your baby to give them a new flavor/twist.
  3. Turn Baby Food to Toddler Food Recipes!  Earth’s Best has a couple of really fun {and yummy sounding} recipes to use up some of that jarred food!

if it’s near or dare i say barely out of date find an animal rescue group. just because a number printed on it says best by,, doesn’t mean it’s spoiled. it can be used for weak or young animals depending on the variety and species. we work with rescue but, also breed pomeranians. we keep the baby food chicken on hand. it’s also good for “making” friends with a new addition or foster animal.

  2. You can also use it to sneak veggies and nutrients in foods for the whole family! Think adding some pureed carrot to your carrot cake mix, add blended applesauce to your hamburgers (this makes them super juicy and you don’t taste it) Bananas go into a banana nut bread, and almost any veggie you want sneaks in a spaghetti sauce!
