When Sophia was a baby, I hadn’t discovered baby carriers – wraps, soft structured, sling – anything. Well, I did try a store bought sling once and she hated it. But when Moreaya was born, she had no choice but to like carriers and she loves them even more than I do, I think!
When you have babies so close in age, carriers are definitely helpful. Just around the house, when you’re out in public… all the time! It’s nice to have your little one so close and safe and still have 2 hands free for your toddler!
So, when I started thinking about the summer time and how we would be enjoying splashing at local splash pads and water parks, I started wondering how I would do it with two little girls. I obviously needed to carry Moreaya, but knew I couldn’t wear a regular wrap and get it wet and wasn’t sure how comfortable I was about getting my Beco wet. Sooo… I started looking around. That’s when I came across WaterWrapCarriers.com!
I fell in love with the Fuschia color as soon as I saw that sweet picture!
These sport & water wrap baby carriers are a must have for the summer! 100% polyester jersey lends breath-ability with just the right amount of stretch. The fabric feels like a lightweight, silky swimsuit which keeps it light in the water & dries very quickly. Wear baby in the shower, at the beach, at the water-park or in the pool. This especially comes in handy for keeping your hands free to play with or help older children in the water! Great for showering with a slippery baby! Can even be used as a sporty, everyday wrap! Available in 7 fun colors!
The wraps are considered a one size, about 5 yards of fabric, but they do have smaller and larger sizes available for sale if you need them. It fits me perfectly and doesn’t feel too big – the same as my other wraps. The wrap itself is recommended for children 8-30 lbs!
It did take me a bit to get used to how tight to tie it. With my Boba Wrap, since it’s extremely stretchy, you’re advised to put it on really tight. Diane, the woman behind WaterWrapCarriers.com, suggests not tying quite as tight because this wrap has only a 2-way stretch where most other wraps have a 4-way. It doesn’t make a difference with the comfort though – this wrap was every bit as comfy as my other!
I can’t say enough about my Water Wrap Carrier. I was so much more at ease at the Water Park, knowing I could hold Sophia’s hand without any fear of Moreaya slipping. We used it in very shallow 2 ft water and we also used it in 4 ft. It was so easy to gauge Moreaya’s reactions to the water since she was right on me {close enough to kiss!} and how far up the water was going on her.
This carrier is super thin which makes it very easy to fit into your diaper bag. It will definitely be going with us a lot! I’m actually letting a friend borrow it on her trip to the beach in a couple of weeks because I know it will make her life so much easier!
Lastly, I did want to share {since sun protection is SO important to me} that these wraps do not contain any SPF, other than the fabric covering the skin itself. Straight from Diane… “We have looked into the processes for adding UV protection to the fabric & we do not trust the chemicals used in additives and the processes that weave into the fabric are cost prohibitive at this time.” So be sure to use sunscreen on your babe!
