As a one income family, we’re constantly looking for ways to save money. I know we’re not alone either, which is why I wanted to check out the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club and let everyone know how it works! Whether you have insurance or not, the Club is designed to save you money in a few different ways.
I recently went on 2 visits to Walgreens to sign up for the Family Membership. Why 2 trips? I was excited to go for a small shopping trip, child-less {that doesn’t happen very often} one Saturday afternoon, but for some reason my Walgreens Pharmacy was already closed! I didn’t inquire, just decided to make another trip Monday morning. You can see more details of my shopping experience in my Google+ Album.
I had 2 little tag-a-longs for my second trip, but they’re usually good shoppers when it’s a short trip, so I wasn’t worried! That’s why I love having a Walgreens in our town so I can run in and out when I just need a few things – and keep the girls happy at the same time!
Today’s trip was all about purchasing the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club… although Sophia might have gotten a bit distracted by this fun, blue {her favorite!} nail polish!
After promising the to paint her piggies blue later, we headed to the back of the store where the Pharmacy is located. There was no line so I got helped right away. I was silently dreading the process of paperwork with 2 girls in tow and even took a screenshot of my phone when I arrived at the store to see just how long the whole process and Walgreens shopping experience would take. I walked into the store at 9:27 am.
When I told the Pharmacy Tech what I was interested in purchasing, she asked for my name and my birth date. She also asked if I wanted the Family or Individual Club, which I chose Family. The process was super simple! She then asked what family members I wanted to add and I simply gave their names and birth dates as well.
I then signed about 3 of these screens – agreeing to the Terms & Conditions of the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. I paid the $35 and I was done! I was given a temporary card and told that my real card would be mailed to me in 10-14 days. I did inquire about a booklet or pamphlet of information about the Prescription Savings Club so I could see if my medications would be covered, but she told me the information would come with my card.
Our family doesn’t use many daily medications, so I’m interested to see if it will save us enough money to justify the $35 Club costs. But, I really have nothing to lose – Walgreens guarantees you’ll save as much as the membership costs or they’ll refund you the difference!
It was a quick check-out, with no one else in line – so we paid for Sophia’s blue nail polish and walked out of the doors at 9:36! Can you believe that I found a fabulous blue nail color, signed up to save money with Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, and checked out at 2 registers WHILE having a 2 year old and an almost 6 month old with me in less than 10 minutes!?! Yeah, me neither – but I have screenshots to prove it!
If you love the fast and ease of shopping at Walgreens as much as I do… and would love another way to save some money – be sure to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date all on of their great programs and sales!
