{Semi} Wordless Wednesday – Bananas Edition

bananas2

Moreaya had her first taste of bananas and pre-packaged baby food all at the same time!  I've actually been making all of her baby food {more on that in a later post} and she's been loving it!  I had attempted this with Sophia but found it overwhelming, which I'm not sure why because it's super easy.  But in times when I'm not able to whip up a new food for her or for when we're not at home and it's time for her to eat - I'll be offering her some fun foods and snacks like the Earth's Best Organics Infant Puree Pouches! … [Read more...]

Supporting WAHMs.

srrmain

I'm pretty upset and have been for a over a week about a controversy that has came to light via Facebook. I've been a fan {and friend} of Charlotte's from Red Charlotte for over a year now!  I was actually the first blogger to ever review her Red Charlotte Stuff Sack and Sucking Pads.  Since then we've emailed one another often and I feel like she's a genuine online bloggy friend. So, when I saw this post, I immediately became concerned... As a blogger who has worked with Boba in the past {and had hoped to again in the future}, I wasn't sure how to react.  I've actually only had the absolute best customer service experiences with them both during my reviews and after.  I was shocked that they would do what Charlotte was saying they did, so I went straight to the source and asked Charlotte exactly what had happened...  We … [Read more...]

ahmelie1

The last, but certainly not the least, Sponsor in the Summer Splash Event is a fun one... and very practical at that!   What do you need after your child is done splishing and splashing!?!  Something to dry off with! Whether they've been splashing inside or out, you always need a good size towel to dry your little ones off.  Sophia loves to run around in a towel draped around her to dry after every bath and after she gets out of the pool.  I am so excited to show you her new, favorite hooded towel! Isn't it GORGEOUS!?  It's an organic hooded towel from the Amy Butler line - made from a towel and washcloth and then decorated so lovely with the fabric around the hood.  It's uber soft and super absorbent for all that water leftover from play time! Sophia is just turning 2 and is about average for her age and this … [Read more...]

Any day is a Great Day to Be MY Dog! #iLoveMyK9

post1

I read a quote once that I didn't understand until I had children.  It went something like, "Your dog/cat is your baby before you have children.  Once you have children, your dog/cat becomes a pet".  This has happened in our house.  I have a cat that's been a part of my family for 11 years and before Sophia was born, she was my baby... the one he greeted me everyday when I returned from work.  Once I had Sophia and especially with Moreaya as well, she's a cat again.  She doesn't get quite the attention she used to, but she's fine with it... she's a cat after all - she tends to like being ignored. Someone who doesn't quite fit that mold is our Yorkshire Terrier, Smokey!  He doesn't seem to think that he should become "just a pet" just because we have two girls to take up most of our time now! He came into our family a few … [Read more...]

Is Your Baby Getting Enough Iron?

Is your baby getting enough iron? A baby less than one year needs 11 milligrams of iron every day to prevent deficiencies and to stay healthy. The best way to get this iron is through a combination of breast milk or formula supplemented with an iron-fortified cereal. Earth's Best infant cereals provide an excellent source of iron (45%), an essential mineral for proper infant growth and development. Earth's Best cereals are available in a variety of varieties. Are you a parent on-the-go? Try the multi-packs, individual pouches that can easily be tossed into the diaper bag. Earth's Best's infant cereals are made with 100% organic whole grains. Whole grains possess more of their natural nutrition than grains that have been stripped and processed. Plus, whole grains have a fuller, richer, flavor, helping baby to develop a preference for … [Read more...]

Potty Training Continued

ebpottytraining

Although Sophia is technically day potty trained, I still say that we are in the stages of Potty Training.  Why?  Because she's still very young - turning 2 in just 6 days!!!  She still has some accidents, although they are usually just small because she tries to "hold it" and wait until the last possible minute to make a dash for the bathroom.  I also use disposable pull-ups on her when we go on longer day trips - when we're going to be in the car for over an hour.  She is still not night trained or nap trained, but I'm not pushing it because she isn't ready at all. We tried a variety of cloth training pants and although they worked great for around the house, for small accidents - they do not work for us outside of the house.  So we've been using disposable trainers.  I was really excited when I saw a pack of their TOTS Potty … [Read more...]

the real meaning of So Easy Being Green.

SEBG Button

This blog post has been in my head for awhile now but I just hadn't got the chance to sit down and read it.  It's been weighing even heavier on me lately and today I am forcing myself to take a break from party decorations while both the girls are napping and write it. When I started this blog, it was a play on words.  My original title was Not So Easy Being Green - a play on Kermit the Frog's old saying.  I started blogging at the urging of one of my good bloggy friends, April from Marine Parents.  I was interested and she was there to guide me through it all!  Hundreds of emails later, I decided on a blog name and a theme - being a green Mommy. It was a time in my life where I had a pretty new baby girl - Sophia was about 4 months and we were 4 months into cloth diapering {which had … [Read more...]
