I always had a hard time setting a good nightly routine for Sophia when she was younger. Once she started sleeping in her “big girl bed” a few months ago, I knew it would be crucial to follow a nightly routine.
Here’s how ours goes:
- Pick out PJ’s – She absolutely loves picking out her own pajamas and her favorite thing to wear to bed is my old, vintage t-shirts from when I was about 6. They fit her like nightgowns and she thinks it’s the greatest thing ever.
- Brush Teeth – She used to love brushing her teeth, but apparently the fun-ness of the activity wore off and it’s a chore for this active toddler now.
- Lotion up! – More on that in a bit…
- Pick out Stories – We fluctuate. Right now she’s in her “Mommy picks the books” mood where for a few weeks now, I get to choose all 3 stories that we read that night.
- Turn out the light and Wait… and Wait… and Wait some more. – Yep, my toddler doesn’t like going to sleep and sometimes our bedtime routine lasts a good hour and a half!
So, I mentioned that we lotion-ed up in that routine… we haven’t actually always done that. But when I received my bottle of Sleepytime Lotion from my Earth’s Best box of goodies this month, we added that in and Sophia loves it!
The lotion is a lovely fragrance of calming chamomile and is very gentle for children with super sensitive skin! It hasn’t irritated Sophia’s or Moreaya’s skin like other lotions do.

This would help with her falling asleep since she likes to “party, karamu, fiesta, forever” LOL.
My kids love having lotion put on their legs, also helps with the mild eczema my oldest has. The scent of this lotion would be so relaxing for their bedtime.
My daughter loves to rub lotion on herself, and (hopefully!!) this will help with bed time for us – a thing which has become quite difficult in the past 6 weeks or so.
They love it.
My daughter always enjoys lotion bedtime. Thank you for the lovely giveaway!

We don’t use lotion in our routine yet but it’s mostly because we haven’t found one we really like. I would love to try this one from EB!
Yes, my son like to get a little massage with lotion after his bath. His skin is especially dry in the winter, so this really helps. I would love to try Sleepytime lotion!
My son gets a massage after baths & before bed!!
my son actually hates getting “lotion-ed” up! but we do it most nights after the tub, if the screaming isn’t too bad
My youngest grandson LOVES when I rub lotion on him. He finds it so soothing!
My kids actually don’t love it, but they need it, because they have such dry skin (especially my 4 yo son). A yummy smelling lotion helps, though, so I’d love to try this!
Dd loves putting lotion on her legs (of course all by herself!) while I am putting it on mine after we shower. At this point if it makes her sleepy and she actually falls asleep I will take it! These going to bed at midnight and not taking naps until 6pm is driving us all batty! Constant whining when we get home (if she doesn’t fall asleep on the way home, then it’s when she wakes up) is not cutting it!
Ro likes lotion…sometimes!
I think the calming chamomile might be just what we need to get to sleep in less than one hour after “bedtime”!
My daughter loves lotion…she would be so happy to use this!!!
We don’t lotion regularly, but I’m wondering if that might be something to add in once we are done with breastfeeding.
