Fluffy Friday: the *new* Thirsties Duo AIO

All in One Cloth DiapersI’ve recently found a love for AIO’s.  It happened when Sophia was still in diapers, about 3 months ago or so.  I just love the trimness and the easiness of no stuffing!  Most of the AIOs that we have dry relatively quickly on the drying rack, even inside, so that’s not a problem as it used to be {some that I had tried before took forever}.

I’ve always had a love for Thirsties.

Thirsties® is a small (but growing!) cloth diaper company committed to greener parenting and Eco Friendly solutions, not to mention 100% USA Made quality! Erin, founder of Thirsties, started this business with an old sewing machine and $100 5 years ago. Through her hard work and diligence, the company is now one of the leaders in the cloth diaper industry. Our diapers are now made by work at home mothers, and very close to our warehouse, reducing our carbon output. Our customer service reps are experienced cloth diapering moms, and offer our knowledge to our retailers and customers alike.

In fact, their covers were some of the first diapers to be on Sophia when she was an infant.  So, when I heard about their new Duo All-in-One, oh yeah, I was ready to try it!

Thirsties Duo AIO

We received this beauty… no, not the lovely lady, but the Thirsties Duo AIO in the Alice Brights print, Size 1.  I also chose a Snaps closure, even though I normally prefer Aplix for Moreaya because it’s easier, faster, and you get a better fit usually.  The snaps on this diaper are good quality, spaced well, and have only 1 row, so they’re pretty simply to operate.

If you’re familiar with the Duo Fab Fitted, this AIO is very similar.  I am a huge fan of that diaper as well, so to have a waterproof outer {basically the only difference in the two} is a genius idea!  The inside soaker is sewn in on the sides, but open at the top and bottom.  If it was a pocket diaper, we would call this a sleeve.  That’s the great thing about this AIO because you can actually add more absorbency, if needed, and it’s super easy to do with the top and the bottom being open.  This design also helps the diaper dry faster.  Don’t be fooled though.  It’s super trim but still holds quite a bit as Moreaya can easily wear this diaper for 3 hours without leaks.

As I said, Moreaya is wearing the Size 1, which fits 6-18lbs {0-9 months}.  In the past, I’ve found that they Size 1 doesn’t quite last to 18lbs, or it didn’t for Sophia, so definitely plan on a Size 2 if your babe is 15lbs or so, I think.  Moreaya is on the middle setting.  I used the smallest setting a couple of times, but like the fit much better with a bit of a higher rise.

Honestly, the Duo AIO is my favorite Thirsties product yet.  I love their Covers, Fab Fitteds, and Hemp Inserts too, but the AIO is, I think, going to be one of their best sellers.  It’s super easy to use, trim, and would be a fabulous addition to any stash!

I ordered a Thirsties AIO last week and I am in love!! It was my first AIO diaper and it’s great. It’s a great daddy/ grandma diaper. I need more for them. :)

The only Thirsties I have used is the small fitteds, that I bought second hand. Those were my absolute favorite fitteds for my tiny baby. She has unfortunately grown out of them but I am definitely holding onto them for the *possible* next tiny :)

I dont actually have any Thirsties products, but I was planning on trying the Duo AIO, so needless to say, I would love to win one to try it out. Otherwise, I was going to buy one with our tax return.

We love our diaper covers, duo dipes, duo wraps, and are looking forward to trying out the hand-me-down NB AIOs a friend just passed on to us, but my favorite Thirsties product(s) is their cloth wiping combination-Booty Luster & Fab Wipes. When my PLed toddler has a messy session, he runs and gets them (shouting “wipe my butt! ‘LEASE!!!)-they’re always his first choice, too!

  6. Denise Taylor says

We love our duo fab fitteds! They are our current favorite night time diaper, since our LO has decided to sleep 6-8 hours at night and is a heavy wetter for her diminutive size :)

Thirsties cotton/hemp prefolds are wonderful and so soft! I use them to stuff pockets too and you get a lot of absorbency without a lot of bulk!

I do not have a Thirsties product that I don’t LOVE! I have Duo Wraps, and I like that they actually do fit from newborn to potty training (and beyond!). I love the hemp inserts so I can add absorbency to any diaper I want, and the Duo Diapers are great too! Seriously, if I had to use only one brand of cloth diaper, I would choose Thirsties! Love them! :-)

I have a thirsties wrap and prefold which are awesome! I’d love to try some more of their products though. Everything really :). I’m looking into their booty love right now. I have a feeling I’d love these too.

I haven’t tried one yet :( Other than the Thirsties Duo AIO (which I would LOVE to try) I would also like to try the Duo Fab Fitted.

I LOVE the new Thirsties Duo AIO and am slowly stocking up on this diaper to make it my go to diaper. So far I have two of them LOL. I have an orchid aplix and warm stripes snaps size 1 for my 3 month old.

  12. Tasha Glasscock says

Ok so I actually have the fab fitted in ocean blue with a Hoots print cover. It’s early and I’m apparently brain dead.. ha ha! Anyway, I love it so, I’m sure I would love the AIO even more!

  13. Tasha Glasscock says

I love the duo AIO. I got it as a gift 😉 It really does fit well. I’d love to have more. I think the only thing that keeps me from making them a permanant part of my daily stash is that they aren’t an OS (but if they were it wouldn’t fit so nicely, I’m sure.) I also LOVE their wonderful covers. They are prob the cutest on the market!
