Are you ready to see some adorable, tiny fluff!?! I’ve got quite a few cloth diaper reviews, most are Newborn but some will include one-size diapers as well for those of you who have older babies… don’t feel left out! I saved most of my cloth diaper reviews for the last few weeks of the Event simply because I wanted to be able to let Moreaya wear each of the diapers a few times so I could get a good feel for the fit, quality, and absorbency of the diapers.
As I said before, when these Newborn diapers started arriving, I would show them to Rob and laugh. I really thought there was no way that they would ever fit on any baby of mine. Sophia weighed 9 lbs, 6 oz when she was born and I only assumed that Moreaya would be about the same, maybe a bit smaller, but I really felt like she was going to be big as well. She fooled us! She was born at 6 lbs, 15 oz and lost 8 oz by the time of discharge {which is actually pretty good}.
As you read yesterday, Moreaya wore her first diaper when she was 7 days old. I just couldn’t wait to get her into her fluff! The second day of cloth diapering, her cord fell off so I was comfortable trying all of our diapers on her. The first Newborn Diaper that I get to share with you is from a lovely WAHM named Amy and her creations at Strawberries ‘N’ Sunshine!
This little diaper arrived in our mailbox and I “ooh-ed” and “ahh-ed”! It’s so adorable in pictures but even more so in person! It’s not the smallest Newborn diaper I’ve ever seen, but it’s not too big either. Actually, I think it’s probably about the best size, as it fits Moreaya very well now but I think she’ll be able to wear it a little longer than some of the others that we have.
This diaper is an AIO with a super soft inside. It’s definitely absorbent enough for the little gal and she put it to the test immediately… she pooped in it between moving her from the changing table to my bed, so I could take a picture! The diaper held it all in, even around her tiny little legs! Moreaya wore this diaper for the first time at 8 days old. As you can see in the picture, the rise is a little high, compared to diapers that have snap-down features for their cords. For this reason, I chose to wait until her cord fell off. I have the tabs overlapped and it really does fit her very nicely!
At this age, I think AIO’s are going to be my favorite type of diaper… simply because they are more trim and there’s nothing to stuff, tuck in a cover, and they are usually easy to put on. My Strawberries ‘N Sunshine AIO is not exception to any of these! I think it will definitely be one of the diapers that I continue to reach for, until she outgrows it!
