How We Chose Moreaya.

mooreacollage

So, I guess you could say we went against the grain.  Most of you agreed that Cordelia was your favorite name, and honestly, it had always been on my mind to use if I ever had a girl. But, we chose Moreaya and I want to share with you why! We were driving down the road a few weeks ago and randomly saying Baby Names aloud.  We were being a bit silly and Rob said, "Bora Bora.  Tahiti."  Why would he say that?  Well, he's crazy and because that's where we went on our Honeymoon {almost 3 years ago!}. That's right, we went on the most spectacular 9 night Honeymoon that I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams.  It was worth every penny, but it sure would be nice to have all those pennies back!  We had a very small, intimate wedding to save money because we both love to travel and decided we would rather share our wedding with … [Read more...]

Go Green: Home Sponsor Spotlight: SavvyRest

gogreenhomesponsor

  So you all know that I'm pregnant.  With pregnancy comes... lack of sleep, or at least it does in my case.  When I find a product that helps me sleep, while pregnant, well... WOW!  I just have to share it with all of you! This is the case with my new Savvy Rest Organic Wool Pillow!  I was so excited to not only find an organic option to lay my head on, but one that also promotes coolness during this hot nights we've been having in east Tennessee!  How does a pillow promote coolness?  Well, I'm so glad you asked! If you sleep hot, you'll appreciate how this pillow's organic wool fill helps stabilize your temperature.  Wool fiber is a natural insulator {from heat or cold} and improves air flow.  Wool also promotes moisture evaporation for drier, cooler comfort. Now I know how Sophia sleeps so well in her wool covers!  This … [Read more...]

Go Green: Home Sponsor Spotlight: Pomme Wellness {Shaklee}

gogreenhomesponsor

I've not been shy about my love for finding Shaklee.  When I connected with a bloggy friend almost a year ago {crazy how this year has flown!}, I never knew that she would change my life.  Well, that might be a bit drastic, but in all honesty, Shaklee has changed the way that I view "cleaning" and my household's health in that area.  I used to be under the impression that bleach smelled clean, as well as those lovely nose-burning fumes from the Lysol can.  {Maybe this is from years of working in child care?}  Oh, how I wish I could share this message, that Kristina told me during that first Shaklee convo, that "Clean is actually the absence of smell!"  Makes sense, but it does take some getting used to and re-training our brains. So, let's get to Pomme Wellness.  Kristina has created a Mom-run Shaklee business with her sister … [Read more...]

Go Green: Home Sponsor Spotlight: Eco Home Store

gogreenbanner

I know everyone is excited to see what I have in store for you in the Go Green Giveaway Event and my first Sponsor will not disappoint you!  I connected with the Eco Home Store about a month ago when they were holding their Back To School Giveaway Event.  I was really impressed with the products that they carried online and the Customer Service that I dealt with was amazing!  I was so happy when they wanted to jump aboard this Event! This website was “birthed” by two working moms (who are also sisters) who saw a need for an online solution that could be a one-stop shop, for consumers like themselves, to find affordable eco-friendly products that could be used in the home. So, what can you find at the Eco Home Store? A better question may be, "What won't you find?"  The site is so easily laid out, with easy to read and … [Read more...]

Organize, Shmorganize.

I know, that's what most Moms think about organizing their child's room... especially a little toddler who's as active as Sophia!  I've actually spent all morning cleaning: dusting, cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, vacuuming, and steam mopping.  Miraculously, I didn't have that many toys to pick up before I was done and it's even stayed semi-picked up since I've finished. We've really tried to show Sophia how to clean up when she's finished playing with toys and I'll say it's slowly sinking in... not completely, but slowly.  I'd love to share some of my tips for how to organize your house, especially your child's bedroom or toy room, to help you stay a bit more sane when it comes to cleaning! Children mimic behaviors.  Obviously we all know this.  So, set a great example of picking up your stuff when you're finished!  I … [Read more...]

I still can't quite believe that I'm going to be a Mommy of 2 Girls!  Everyday that I feel this little baby kick, the realization gets a bit more, well, real. Since it's Mom Blog Monday {have you linked up?!} and we've finally decided on a name... I thought I would share with you all!  I took every comment that you gave on the names into consideration and they really helped when Rob and I sat down to hash it all out.  That may sound serious, but that's what we have to do or we p-r-o-c-r-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-e!  So, after all that deliberation, I'd like you to meet... My Baby Girl #2, also known as... {pronounced "More-ay-uh"} I can't wait to share our lives with this little girl who has already brought us so much joy... And, in the next few days I'll be bringing you a post to explain just why and how we fell in love with this … [Read more...]

I’m Sizing Down our #clothdiapers!?

That's not normally something you see, right? I blogged awhile back about sizing up Sophia's OS diapers.  She was leaking out the legs, even with 2 microfiber inserts.  Yes, they were wet, but none of her other diapers leak like these, so I thought sizing up would fix the problem.  It hasn't.  So, I've sized them back down and guess what?  We're having a lot less leaks! I didn't say No Leaks, but a lot less.  I bought a ton, seriously a ton, of hemp inserts... I've almost got enough for 1 hemp insert per diaper now.  The combo of the microfiber on top, hemp on the bottom, lets her wear the diaper about 3 hours, which is plenty long enough, but not so much that I'm changing constantly. I think the reason we still have leaks with our bumGenius OS diapers is because of the elastic in the legs.  It's nowhere near shot, or … [Read more...]

Fluffy Friday: Dinkledooz OS Diaper

dinkledoozgeneric

I'm really excited to bring you another Fluffy Friday today... and hopefully introduce you to a new diaper that you're going to love!   GoGo Natural is a great online store that I love to frequent and window shop a bit more than I would like to admit!  They carry a very wide variety of cloth diapers, cloth diaper accessories, baby gear, and much more! When we were discussing a diaper to review for a Fluffy Friday, they suggested I try out a Dinkledooz.  To be honest, I hadn't even heard of this brand... {have any of you?}.  It's a relatively small time brand, well, compared to the big 3.  I agreed because I've definitely found out that just because a diaper isn't as widely known, doesn't mean it isn't as good.  Some of my new favorite diapers in our stash are those that are just taking off in the Cloth Diapering World! The … [Read more...]
