Baby Bump T2: Tummy Tankz Maternity Belly Band

Although I was sent a complimentary TummyTankz maternity belly band for review purposes, I was not paid/enticed to write a fabulous review for this product, all opinions are expressed are 100% mine! Any links to Amazon may be affiliate links. Thank you!

The first Review and Giveaway in the Baby Bump: Take 2 Event is one of my must-have’s for all preggy Mama’s.  Maybe it’s in my head, but the first few weeks that I find out I’m pregnant, I already feel like my tummy needs extra support.  Am I alone in this?  It just feels heavier.

The TummyTankz maternity belly band is the perfect solution.  When I was pregnant with Sophia, I bought a “belly band” from a local Super Store and did like it.  It helped me feel supported and made my clothes fit better, BUT… I had 2 problems with it.  One, it wants to roll down on me.  Not sure why?  I’m guessing it’s not long enough for my torso?  The second, which was a major problem for me, is the fact that I got a beige one {they only come in Black, White, and Beige in that brand}, so it’s not like I want it to show outside of my clothes.  A problem because one of the major reasons you wear a “belly band” is to help hold your too-tight pants OR too-big Maternity pants up.  How is the band not supposed to show?!

20 Weeks!

TummyTankz took my dislikes in a maternity belly band and completely addressed them.  Were they listening in on me in my closet, while I was getting dressed everyday while I was pregnant the first time?  Well, I hope not, but if they were… they listened very well!  TummyTankz come in… are you ready for this… a few Classic Colors {White, Black, and Teal} as well as Prints!  These prints are super stylish and I love the way they look layered under a tee, don’t you?

Lastly, I’ve already covered how you can wear your TummyTankz in early Pregnancy {wearing too-tight regular pants un-buttoned or too-big Maternity pants} and how it helps support your growing belly, but TummyTankz is so versatile that it can be used as a Breastfeeding Accessory.  I was amazed when I read this.  While breastfeeding, you normally pull your shirt up and your belly would be exposed, but with TummyTankz, your belly is covered!  I am seriously in love with my TummyTankz!

Side Notes:  They also say your TummyTankz can be worn as a tube top after Pregnancy… Ok.  IF I decide to do that, I will NOT be walking out of the house!  Ha!  Second, as stated on the website, if you are in between sizes, pick the Smaller Size.  I actually chose a Size 2 and it’s still a bit loose at the top of my belly.  I wish it were a bit tighter now, but I have no worries that in a few more weeks it will fit just as snug on the top as it does on the bottom now.

  1. we did not find out the gender! I want “that moment” in the delivery room and my hubs to announce it instead of a random u/s tech

  2. We found out with our first baby because I wanted a gender specific baby shower. I’m so glad we did because people got us clothes all the way up through 12 months and I LOVED that! With our future kiddos I don’t think we’ll find out though, suprises are so fun and the bedding we have is neutral, as well as a lot of our newborn clothes. We’d have some time to go find little girl things if we needed to 🙂

  3. I haven’t had the opportunity…yet! But even though I LOVE surprises, I will definitely want to know!

  4. Yes, we found out with both of ours what we were having. I had originally thought that I would want to be surprised, but I just couldn’t do it! I’m too much of a planner! 🙂

  5. I chose not to, the surprise was nice and yellow ducks work for everything.

  6. we’re going to. we figure, there’s the initial fun of telling people you’re pregnant, then the fun of gender, and then the name. It makes it WAY easier to register that way :-p

  7. We’re not finding out the gender. I want to hear my partner say “It’s a….” as we pull the baby out of the water together. I’ve always thought I’d have a boy first, but I would be thrilled with a little girl, so either way I’ll be in love. 🙂

  8. We didn’t find out the sex of our 18 month old because my husband wanted to wait…I forgot to put how I follow you in the form….I follow you via email, gfc, fb and twitter 🙂

  9. I did with both of my sons… The first, I really just wanted to know and plan; my second, I was planning a VBAC and felt like knowing would help me bond better. This time around, we are NOT finding out with our third b/c A). I don;t want to be disappointed if it’s another boy (and when you have a beautiful newborn placed on your chest, the sex no longer matters). B). This is our last and I really want to have the experience of not knowing and C). I want the motivation of pushing to find out 🙂

  10. When I had ds a little over 18 yrs ago, they only did 1 sonogram and I KNEW I was having a boy so I didn’t even ask for them to check. When we had dd, we tried and tried to find out what she was but she never cooperated – she was sitting crossed legged on my cervix all the way up to the day I went into labor – so we found out when she was born (via c-section since she would not turn head down!). With our daughter that we lost, we were told it was a 75-80% chance she was a girl because she was, like her sister, sitting crossed legged on my cervix. With her we decided to get a 3D/4D sono since a place had finally opened up down here. That was where we found out we had lost her…there was no heartbeat. If we are ever blessed with another (and I’m starting to lose hope really fast), we will try to find out! 🙂

  11. I couldn’t wait to shop and decorate so we found out at 21 weeks that we are expecting a GIRL! We couldn’t wait to find out 🙂

  12. we did find out the gender of both our babies. with the first, hubby really wanted to know, i kinda didn’t. but, it wasn’t hard for him to convince me. #1=boy,#2=girl. with #2 i’m kinda glad we found out it was a girl. for some unknown reason i was assuming it would be another boy, so we both were glad to get used to the idea of a girl. (i think hubby was a little “nervous” of having a daughter)
for #3 i think it would be fun to be a surprise!

  13. I founds out at soon as we could! 🙂 I couldn’t wait! I loved knowing we were a little boy 😀 It was so much fun to feel connected to him and talk to him, knowing he was going to be a “he”.

  14. I found out as soon as possible. I felt more connected to him when I knew he was a boy. I knew it from the beginning though.

  15. We found out, purposefully with the first two. Now that I am pregnant with #3, we did not plan to find out, we wanted it a surprise, but the ultrasound tech did not ask us if we wanted to know or not, so when she scanned the babies femur bones, we knew what we were having. I do not plan on finding out what we are having for subsequent babes!

  16. I found out as soon as I could. It’s a surprise whenever you learn the gender, either at 6 months or at delivery!

  17. I did not find out the gender for either of my kids! We wanted it to be a surprise because there are not many surprises left in the world! It was also great making other people frustrated at not knowing!!! We also kept names secret too! When we had both our kids, everyone was anxious to hear the gender and the name…that was a lot more fun than just saying, “baby’s here”!

  18. Before getting pregnant with my daughter, I always thought that I would not want to find out the sex of the baby, but after getting pregnant, I was too impatient to wait, so I decided to find out what the sex was (my husband wanted to find out, but he agreed that the decision was up to me.) Now, I want to find out for every baby we have.

  19. We’re going to find out with this one. I can’t wait. I feel like it will be exciting enough meeting the baby when they are born, I don’t need to wait to find out the gender.

  20. I found out the gender with both of my boys. I am a shopper and a frugal one at that. I didn’t want ot be buying two sets of clothes and such (not into gender neutral) and wanted to pick up bargains throughout my pregnancies.

    1. Oh, Marah… I hope to give you a couple more things to add to your list too! 😉 Can’t wait to hear what you’re having!!!

  21. I found out as soon as I was able to. I just couldn’t wait to buy stuff and decorate the nursery 🙂 My husband was already texting “Its a BOY!” before my ultrasound was finished!

  22. I didn’t find out with my first but only because the doctor didn’t believe in knowing before! Crazy, huh? LOL Our second, we found out and this one we will be finding out at the end of September. 🙂

  23. We found out with our first and we are planning to with this one too! All of our family lives over 12 hours away and we wont exactly be able to just go up after the baby is born. We know they will want to give gifts so finding out the gender is just more helpful for everyone involved. 🙂

  24. I still love mine and use it under a low cut top, so it just peeks out but hides the slightly larger ladies thanks to breastfeeding! You will love wearing after baby is born!

  25. We chose not to find out the gender of our baby since we decided there are so few surprises in life as an adult so this is one amazing surprise we will have on delivery day!

    1. That’s really sweet. I love the idea of a surprise… but I’m way too “organized” to not find out. We’re already setting up Baby #2’s closet! 😉
