Well, she will be soon. With the new baby coming, we’ve decided that Sophia will take over, what is now the Guest Bedroom, and the baby will simply take over her Nursery now.
I didn’t realize how excited I would be to actually decorate a room for Sophia. Since we chose all of her furnishings and decorative bedding before we even realized if we were having a boy or girl, her Jungle theme is not really tailored to her. Although, she has enjoyed it for the past year, it’s time for something new!
I’ve been busy “google-ing” paint schemes, checking out decorative bedding at area stores, AND looking for a big girl bed! Since she won’t actually be sleeping in the bed for a few more months, we’ve decided that we’re going to go straight to a Twin Bed and skip the Toddler Bed transition. It will end up saving money and we’ve been trying to find beds that sit low to the ground. It will be positioned against a wall on one side and we’ll use a rail on the other.
While searching for beds, I came across these beauties from Bedstar…
Although we will probably go with a bed similar to the Captain-style on the right, isn’t that pink super cute!? I love the functionality, storage capacity, and neutral tones of the Captain bed. We went straight to a twin bed as well, it made no sense to do the in between! Decorating must be so much fun now that you have a personality and someone with opinions to decorate it with! When my daughter was born we put her in the former guest room and kept my son in his original room, but as he’s grown older its been slowly changing to a bigger kid room!
Oh how fun it will be to pick out things for her bedroom
) Have you picked out a theme or color? We went from cribs straight to twin beds with each of ours.
Blessings & Aloha!
